Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker Reviews
If you own a Wii U, you absolutely owe it to yourself to pick up Captain Toad's Treasure Tracker.
Treasure Tracker may be relatively budget-priced, but it doesn't feel like a cheap, throwaway creation. Every inch of its nearly 100 stages and bonus levels has been buffed to a spit-shine finish, and the Nintendo content factory has produced dozens of one-of-a-kind stage concepts to explore here. Alternately a test of observation, reflex, planning, and deduction, Captain Toad's first standalone title (of assuredly many) demonstrates that spinoffs don't have to feel phoned in... and that there's room in gaming to give top-class love and attention to family-friendly creations, too. A perfect video game sorbet to finish up 2014.
Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker is one of the best options in Switch's catalogue. The combination of a huge amount of funny puzzles along multiple additions to this version make it feel like an interesting purchase.

Captain Toad might seem overly simplistic at first glance, but there's so much more here than expected. It's a rewarding game that constantly revs up the creativity and challenge to keep you addicted while also throwing in a decent amount of extras to bring you back for seconds. It's charming presentation and clever puzzles give it a special touch that sets it above other similar games. And frankly, there's little else out there that's like Captain Toad.
Top to bottom, Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker is a delightful little treat of a game. It shows a purity of puzzle design that few studios can match, and it wraps it all in a sugary-sweet presentation that only the most jaded could refuse. With a game this good, Captain Toad may just be Nintendo's next breakout star.
If you've already played Captain Toad on the Wii U, there's not enough new content here to merit a repurchase — the Super Mario Odyssey levels are great, but you'll blow through them all in half an hour or less. I hope that Nintendo builds upon what's already here with additional DLC, as this is an enjoyable game with levels that are actually fun to replay a few times. After beating the game in several days, my only regret was not having even more puzzles to enjoy.
Wii U owners looking for a break from the multiplayer mayhem of Super Smash Bros. will find refuge in this charming Super Mario 3D World offshoot
Like hidden treasure, Captain Toad Treasure Tracker packs a lot of value into an unassuming package. With a supremely addictive set of charming, brain-teasing levels, stellar production values and a budget price, Captain Toad is the perfect way for Wii U owners to wrap up 2014 after indulging in Smash Bros.
Amazing ports of one of the most underrated titles of the Wii U.

Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker is, by far, one of the most joyful and charming games I've played to date. The lovable and adorable Captain Toad has gotten a new lease on life, and I couldn't be happier.
The Switch delivers Captain Toad in a higher-resolution format, and with better gyroscopic controls.
For existing fans, Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker checks all the boxes as to why they love Nintendo. For the kids this game might be gifted to for Christmas, Treasure Tracker provides an adorable demonstration of what Nintendo is all about. And for that, I think this is one of the strongest titles Nintendo has released in 2014. It's a must-have for Wii U owners.
Its blend of platforms and puzzles and the way the game was spawned from Super Mario 3D World are very well executed and the overall atmosphere of the title is extremely creative and likely to keep players around it for a long time.

Treature Tracker is a powerful gesture of confidence by Nintendo: a spinoff game with more original ideas than most companies' new IPs.
Featuring the unlikely adventurers Toad and Toadette, Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker takes the Captain Toad concept from Super Mario 3D World and runs with it, resulting in a gorgeous and utterly charming puzzle-platformer.
Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker is a joy to play.
Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker brings some fantastic puzzle gameplay to the Switch, and gives a Wii U classic another chance at life. If you missed it before, it's well worth grabbing now.
Controls are really my biggest complaint but, overall, the game is still fantastic and worth playing. The worlds are vibrantly-colored, the courses are fun, and there is plenty of challenge in store for every type of player. If you've been looking for a relaxing puzzle-platformer to play in between your other Switch titles, you won't find a better one than this.
Just like his grand adventure, Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker is simply a delight to experience in the unique and puzzling world he explores.
The beauty of Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker is that it never fails to be cute, clever and ever so slightly challenging all at once. It's absolutely clinical in its design from start to finish, boasting some of the most creative levels Nintendo has ever produced.
