Space Junkies Reviews
Space Junkies is a fun arena-style shooter, with an unfortunate control scheme. The addition of cross-platform play helps to get a game going, at the expense of any sort of balance. PC players have the advantage of a much better control scheme. Move controller compatibility would go a long way towards rectifying this, even if it's still not an ideal control mechanism. As a technical showcase, Space Junkies looks and attempts to play as a fast-paced arena shooter, and it mostly gets that part right. It's just a shame the controls get in the way on console, making the PSVR version feel lesser.
Space Junkies is an incredibly competent multiplayer arena shooter that dodges the VR matchmaking bullet by flexing its cross-play capabilities, but it suffers from inadequate implementation. There's plenty of bullet-blasting action to keep you engaged, but the limited control options only let you partake in a fraction of the fun when compared to your PC brethren.
Ubisoft's Space Junkies sets the groundwork for a great competition-ready zero-G VR shooter, but a lack of content and character dulls its shine.
A decent arena shooter, but the lack of PS Move support is somewhat inexplicable.

Space Junkies possesses a strong foundation. It’s frantic combat and responsive weapons no doubt appeal to those looking to spend quick bursts of game time in VR. Developed in-house by Ubisoft, it’s also one of the best VR experiences one can have in terms of comfort and ease. However, the admission fee alone for this arena shooter might turn away potential fans, and with an already low player population, it remains to be seen whether Space Junkies is here to stay.
Time will tell whether or not Space Junkies can stand the test of time, ideally maturing into a game that can live up to the games it borrows from. As of right now, Space Junkies is at the very least, is a must try for owners of the PSVR headset.
Space Junkies has the foundations of a great game, but does it have enough legs to rocket through post launch?
If you're in the market for a competitive online VR shooter then Space Junkies may be worth getting if you don't mind its simplicity.
Space Junkies is quite well done though with some gaps here and there, but all in all a nice game
