NBA 2K20 Reviews
NBA 2K20 is excellent for that single-player basketball experience, but if you want multi-player, be prepared to risk frustration.
Apart from the grossly blatant grab at player’s wallets, NBA 2K20 remains as an institution for not just basketball but for sports games.
As for the base game itself. It’s a good game. And this is coming from a fan’s perspective who is more willing to grind out their VC in MyCareer games. Obviously, it’s going to be a ridiculously long grind, but that’s sort of the idea, right? Give us players this long journey, but if you inject some more money into it, the game’s going to be much more fun and rewarding. At least the card pack animations for getting incredibly rare cards looks cool. This is one game that I recommend for the NBA die-hard fan. And probably only them.
I’m tired of complaining about this game but it’s a big no from me. While the gameplay is still classic NBA 2K, this iteration has nothing new or exciting going for it.
Overall, the enjoyable gameplay and reliably fun game modes are what make NBA 2K20 great. However, I still find myself waiting for 2K to create a new and exciting game mode in the future that will essentially make it the perfect game.
Hiding the nasty microtransactions and adding some welcome new additions has lead to the best game of ball of this generation. It isn’t perfect, but it isn’t the monetary predator it has been for the last few years.
At its core, NBA 2K20 boasts a great gameplay mechanicsm, enjoyable visuals and fluid animations, such that it is difficult to name any other Sports game that does these as good as 2K20. However all this greatness is marred by a single misconduct, microtransaction services run rampant throughout player's experience and it is easy to find yourself wishing that they were not present at all.

If we're only talking about the gameplay, NBA 2K20 plays like a dream – however, the microtransations are simply ridiculous. If you don't mind that, feel free to enjoy the best basketball video game under the sun.

NBA 2K20's presentation is unparalleled, but beneath its shiny exterior are continued problems with its online infrastructure and some pretty odious microtransactions. The latter are a bit less punishing than last year, but the former is worse than ever, and it affects almost every aspect of the game. These elements, which seemingly come up every year, unfortunately overshadow what should be an amazing sports sim.
