Where it matters most (gameplay), 2K20 really shines, with the potential to thrill in ways few other sports games can.

Overall, NBA 2K20 is still one of the best basketball games out there, but future iterations should either ease up greatly on the VC spend or drop the price significantly, so players won't have to spend extra money.

The only mode that seems to have escaped, somewhat, the microtransactions plague, is the story, which is almost good enough to keep the game upright by itself. But it's almost good enough.

NBA 2K20 keeps things fresh with some welcome tweaks to gameplay, refining a product that was already well-oiled and well-drilled. This year's MyCareer mode is an enjoyable enough experience but it, like most of the other modes, is spoiled by microtransactions. Year on year, Visual Concepts continues to push the bar on providing an excellent basketball sim. It would be nice if 2K could finally start providing fan service to match.

NBA 2K20 is another incredible game in the series, capturing every great thing that the NBA has. Despite serious issues involving microtransactions, it's still a mandatory game for fans of the sport.

NBA 2K20 is the equivalent to the 15-16 season of the Warriors. The game was able to reach the highest place, but failed in the end.

MyTeam and MyPlayer have never been better, and the changes to the dribbling and foot planting has caused offense to be fun while not being mindless like the year of the blow by was. If we are officially though the weeds as far as all the issues go, the game can stand on its own as one of the best in the series; if not we are in for a long year.

NBA 2K20 is the best Basketball simulator that has ever created and one of the best sport games of this generation, but as like as recent years, amount of in-game buyings (in a 60 $ game) thtat directly affects gameplay and your experience, has done great damage to the game. I really must say that if it wasn't for huge amount of in-game purchasings, NBA 2K20 would be an "almost perfect sport game" in every aspects, but now we can't ignore the damage that it has done to the game. In the end and with all of these aspects in mind, i must say that NBA 2K20 has seen many improvements and it is an absolutely worthy game to play, but it could be so much better if it wasn't for "gameplay affecting in-game buyings".

NBA 2K20 remains a solid basketball title and something that fans of the sport are bound to enjoy. But the game seems designed to pressure players into pumping extra money so they don't have to spend an ungodly amount of time grinding, and that dampens the arena atmosphere.

If you don't care about competitive modes and go for NBA experience, it's still the best option there is. But if you like competitive modes and/or bought previous years games should think twice before spending full price money. This series requires a renewal now.

NBA 2K20 offers again what we saw last year and the year before that, which is a solid Basketball experience. Some minor technical issues are still here and there, which suggests that the developers are using the same core mechanics as they did previously. Maybe we need to wait for next generation of gaming devices for a completely new and fresh NBA experience.

That makes it such a shame that microtransactions infect the story-driven MyCareer, dragging that down to mediocrity or worse. Fortunately, the intriguing though repetitive MyGM mode and the flexible and engrossing MyLeague mode make up for the online-only options. Throw in the WNBA teams and NBA 2K20 is likely the best iteration of the series on Switch even with its caveats.

NBA 2K20 is a fun game that has tweaked a handful of different modes, provided a better story than usual and modified the gameplay in a challenging new way that takes some getting used to. I really do wish they would just do away with the whole currency option altogether, because I suspect you would see more people trying out different types of players and experiencing more of the game without the artificial slowness that forces you to grind or pay.

"NBA 2K20" is a great game for those who new to the franchise or who have taken some time away from it. The every-year purchaser, however, may not find the same value present as they've come to expect from 2K while stumbling upon familiar reasons for frustration. Despite that, it would be difficult not to recommend "2K20" under almost any circumstance given its authenticity and depth in a number of areas.

There is a silver lining to all of this: the online issues can probably be fixed. There have already been patches to the game to help eliminate the glitches and smooth everything out. If 2K20 can work these things out early on, it'll cement itself as one of the most enjoyable installments in the entire franchise.

The series has not taken very significant steps during the recent years and each new title brings small improvements in the gameplay compared to last year. And this year NBA2K20 is for the most part an excellent basketball simulator.

NBA 2K20 can be easily recommended to basketball fans. If you are not familiar with the franchise, still the gameplay can be well with you. The myCareer section also shows that storytelling can be successful in sports. However, the publisher's lucrative policies of pushing the audience to pay real money for in-game virtual currency was a misconception that gamers have objected to. Although this year's dose has dropped slightly (only in the myCareer section), its footprint in the most important online game mode, myTeam, can be seen as an insult to the audience.

NBA2K0 is worth your money if you focus on the game itself and not on the superficial things you can buy with your VC in MyCareer or in MyTeam. Because even as its aging graphics engine speaks to a need for a shake-up, NBA 2K20 is still undeniably the best you can get when it comes to basketball sims.

While the Czech team has been awarded the maximum number of points for their performance at the World Championship, the latest GAME in the NBA 2K series has been awarded 7 points out of 10, which is two points less than the previous title. Gameplay has never been better, but mictrotransactions, minor technical problems, and especially the deplorable MyCareer pull the game down. The question is how much the developers are to blame and how much the greed of 2K is responsible for the overall state. Fortunately, the whole issue has recently been talked about a lot more and perhaps will fundamentally affect the next iteration.
