t’s a wonderful version of a game we love, but if you demand an absolutely level playing field in your entertainment, you may want to knock a point or two off this score.
Fans of the original Talisman board game may find the Digital Edition enjoyable, but the fact that so many characters are locked behind microtransactions, and the overall experience often amounts to a high-speed gankfest, I find it hard to recommend Talisman to anyone but the hardcore fanbase.
Talisman is a classic board game, and deserves respect for that. It’s also eminently playable to this day, and very easy to pick up and play, and as such it’s a genuinely good game for lazy Sundays with friends
Talisman: Digital 5th Edition breathes new life into this classic board game. The new art and animations are fantastic, without losing the signature style. With the less harsh events and streamlined rules, you may even finish a game in a session!
This game grew on me. I still don’t fully understand everything, particularly with the expansions, but that just means there’s plenty to keep me interested over the long term. This is another game that I’ll keep picking up over the coming weeks and months to keep me busy while we continue spending time at home.
The digital edition of Talisman has taken years of tabletop gameplay and put it firmly in the hands of gamers around the world.
