Wavey The Rocket
Top Critic Average
This ride on the sine wave is delightful! Wavey the Rocket captivates the gamepad hour after hour with its creative game idea, precise controls and fair learning curve. Apart from tact, you should also have patience, because none of the more than 80 rocket courses is easy.

Wavey The Rocket is a challenging side-scroller with unique movement. It's difficult to master but there's plenty here for those willing to give it a go.
My mind has not yet been able to fully grasp Wavey's wave movements, but the UpperRoom Games' title is undoubtedly an original and intelligent "platform" that brings to mind the glories of Sonic launched at crazy speed through his articulated and strange levels.

When it's all said and done, my main quarrel with all of these issues is that they are holding this super concept back from reaching anywhere near its potential and it's just such a shame to see.
Wavey the Rocket presents a unique idea that could be implemented in more games in the future, it's fun and challenging but it could also be excruciating and punishing on several occasions.

The chillest rocket in the galaxy is a fun mascot, even if he’s a little shallow, but he’s not really the star of the show. Instead, it’s that oscillating vector, the new wave sinusoid that you actually control. The wave that is both your new favourite toy and in so many courses your cruel mistress. It’s the creation of a whole new sub-genre, which I am dubbing, the Waveformer. When we talk about game physics in future, I hope Wavey is name-checked along with the likes of Portal.
