All in all, Concursion is a fairly solid game, but there are some issues here and there.  The graphics and animation are so-so, the difficulty curve can be steep and times, and the bosses can be pretty tedious.  Overall though, if you're into classic gaming genres I'd at least give the demo a shot before picking up the full game.

Taken as a whole, Concursion is an interesting and fun title. The mixing of mechanics and genres provides some nice and varied gameplay to stand out in a positive way from the rest of the crowd. When the title throws the various genres and mechanics at you at an accelerated pace, it can be a fun romp. You just have to contend with the fact that the game looks bad when compared to more recent releases. The mechanics, while serviceable, could use some tweaking and improvement. Unless you're an absolute stickler for these sorts of things, Concursion is worth checking out if you're up for a title that dares to play against the platforming norm.

While fans of 2D platformers will enjoy it, Concursion has rough edges when it comes to its slightly-unresponsive controls and overall gameplay smoothness. The cheap-looking graphics and forgettable soundtrack hurts things as well.

Concursion will surely have a welcome home in any Steam user's library, with a hearty appreciation for precise and demanding 2D platforming, but newcomers may be better off spending their $12 elsewhere.

Concursion is a very well done game, but unfortunately just not for the right platform. Overall the game is very well done, but unfortunately just not for the right platform, but that is beside the point.

Concursion has a great idea but, unfortunately, it manages to waste most of its potential due to glaring issues with the controls, the difficulty curve, not to mention the awful visuals. The boss fights reward only the most patient players and, in true retro style, if you can't complete a level, you can't progress any further.

Concursion's genre-hopping Big Idea is magnificent, but each of its disparate gameplay styles falls apart in the execution on a mechanical and visual level. Definitely worth trying if you're curious to see how innovative indie developers are pushing boundaries, but difficult to recommend as an £8.99 videogame.

It does dip when controls become a problem and enemies kill you when they never should, but to anyone with a love of the classics, Concursion is undeniably worth picking up.

The lack of polish, along with a control scheme that feels inconsistent, makes Consursion just as irritating as it is intelligent.

Concursion is a little too shaggy, a little too loose in control, to reach that level. An interesting game, then, and sometimes a brilliant game, but one that demands a little too much patience and forgiveness to fully appreciate.
