It would seem the life expectancy of online co-op games is pretty volatile these days. We've seen games like Concord fail before even getting off the starting blocks and others, like Marathon getting reworked to the infinite degree before launch. Add to the mix, games like Highguard, which was being tipped as the next big thing, only to see redundancies follow suit, quickly after launch. Alas, Amazon Game Studios has bad news for online players.
Well, unfortunately, we've another fallen soldier in the online multiplayer war. According to their own official website, King of Meat is shutting down a mere six months after launch. Gamers will have up until April 9, 2026, to enjoy the colorful online multiplayer dungeon crawler with friends before it's gone for good.
Sadly, it would seem that this fun little co-op game just couldn't find the fan base or community support it needed to survive. As of February 23rd, the game is unavailable to purchase, so only players who already own the title can continue to play it up until early April.
