The release of Grand Theft Auto VI has taken a long time to materialize, and it's not even here yet, with a twice-delayed release now scheduled for November of this year.
If all had stuck to Rockstar's original plans, the game would already be in our hands by now, with the first release set for 2025 (though when exactly, we don't know).
Since then, and during the development process as a whole, a lot has changed, and with a game as ambitious in scope as this one, it's not particularly surprising either. In fact, it seems that the early days of development had Rockstar thinking very differently, and it could have led to a totally different end product if they'd stuck to their guns.
As first reported by GTA 6 Countdown on Twitter/X, a PS4 version of GTA VI has been found in datamined files from Sony's database that confirms Rockstar was originally working on a release for the console, likely before it was scrapped in early development.
Though it is a very interesting revelation, development on GTA VI began a long time ago, so it's perhaps not quite as surprising as it first appears to hear that...
