Capcom has announced that less than a week after its launch, Resident Evil Requiem has already surpassed a major sales milestone, so it looks like the game is on track to become the series' most popular installment by far.
In a post on social media, Capcom says that Resident Evil Requiem sales have passed the five million mark, which isn't bad at all for a game that's less than a week old.
This isn't the first sign we've had of Resident Evil Requiem's popularity, either. Last week, the game managed to break Steam records for the franchise by launching to the series' highest concurrent user count on Valve's platform, more than doubling the peak achieved by the Resident Evil 4 remake.
If you're not familiar with Resident Evil Requiem, it's the latest mainline installment in the Resident Evil series, and like 2021's Village, the game eschews a number in its title (although Village rather deftly hid a "VIII", and there's no "IX" to be found in Requiem).
