Yakuza fans aren't happy with the direction that the series is going at the minute. That much has been plainly obvious to even those with a passing interest. Ever since Yakuza Kiwami 3 launched and disappointed a large chunk of the fanbase — whether it be down to the vastly different ending, underwhelming Mine side story, or the Teruyuki Kawaga controversy — RGG Studios has gone from being widely beloved by the entire fanbase, to vilified by many, seemingly overnight.
And just like with any fanbase that is consistently upset by a developer, there is always going to be that subsection of fans that take things way too far and start attacking the people that make the games. While I don't have any examples to hand, they're very clearly happening, as Yakuza creator Toshihiro Nagoshi seemed to recently address such attacks in a now-deleted tweet.
