If you've ever tried to play retro games on PC, you'll have no doubt run into an endless gauntlet of compatibility issues. Just try opening anything from the 2000s that used the now defunct Games for Windows Live — it's hell. Or worse yet, an old RPG where the UI doesn't scale, making everything tiny on 4K monitors. Then there are the games that just flat out break and are borderline unplayable on modern PCs, like a litany of classic LucasArt titles.
That's where DREAMM (i.e. DOS Retro-Emulation Arena for Maniac Mansion), a "bespoke emulator for LucasArts, Lucasfilm, and Lucas Learning games," comes in. As reported by FRVR, this passion project is an "attempt at re-creating the experience of those Windows SCUMM ports" through emulation, and the most recent update has made several LucasArts games work again on modern computers, including six '90s Star Wars titles, all eight Lucas Learning games, and even the licensed Monopoly Star Wars and Willow releases.
