A recent interview with Leon Kennedy's actor, Nick Apostolides, has suggested that Resident Evil Requiem isn't meant to be Leon's last game, despite what we all thought before release.
When Capcom finally stopped trying to gaslight us all and admitted that Leon Kennedy was not only in Resident Evil Requiem, but its second playable character, many figured it was meant to be a send-off to the character. After all, it not only stars a Leon who's pushed to his absolute limit, but also reconciles plot threads that were introduced along with the character nearly 30 years ago.
Now that we've all played Resident Evil Requiem, though, it's pretty clear that isn't actually what Capcom was aiming for. Yes, Requiem does resolve a lot of plot threads for Leon and brings closure to his arc, but it also ends up putting him in the prime of his life and introducing as many questions as it answers, something that Leon's actor has recently spoken about.
