It may not seem like it, but Crimson Desert's massive map does actually have an end. While gliding, riding a dragon, flying a mech, or jetpacking across the continent of Pywel may take some time, you will eventually reach the end of the game's playable area, and it's not just an invisible wall or unexplained death.
Crimson Desert has borrowed features from various games and hasn't really been shy about it. However, you may not have noticed that it also includes a creative way to keep you within the playable area, like GTA 5. If you sail past the game's playable area, you're going to be in for a massive surprise.
You're probably too busy discovering points of interest and new features within Pywel to actually be bothered to discover what's beyond it. However, if you make a beeline for the coast and start rowing towards distant shores, you'll be greeted with a timer that tells you to turn back. The seas start getting choppy and the skies go dark too, and if that isn't enough to make you turn back, a massive blue whale will breach the surface and devour you.
While many games simply end up killing you...
