Claude Guillemot, one of the co-founders of Ubisoft, has died at age 69 following a sudden plane crash in Western France. Though exact details about the plane crash remain unclear as of this writing, the Ubisoft co-founder was listed as the owner of the Cessna 421 tourist plane at the time.

Claude Guillemot was one of the five brothers that co-founded Ubisoft in 1986. Claude was joined by his brothers Christian, Gérard, Michel, and Yves in founding the Paris-based studio. Nearly a decade after the company was founded, Ubisoft first achieved worldwide success with the 1995 launch of Rayman on the PlayStation and other platforms. Following the success of the Rayman series, Ubisoft has gone on to develop other IPs, including Assassin's Creed, Prince of Persia, and Far Cry.
