There is no end in sight to the component crisis, and the surge in manufacturing costs has caused yet another price increase for the Nintendo Switch 2. Just last month, Nintendo increased the Switch 2's price in the United States, Canada, and Europe, effective September 1 this year. Prices went up $50 (USD and CAD) and €30, respectively, and now another region is facing a similar change.

The price of the Nintendo Switch 2 will increase in South Korea on the same date, September 1, 2026, according to an announcement from Nintendo. The change will see the hybrid console's price go from ₩648,000 to ₩758,000 – a difference of ₩110,000, or roughly $71. Nintendo's announcement is brief, but the increased price is coming "As a result of reviewing the future global business feasibility in accordance with changes in various market environments," according to a machine translation of the original Korean.

Nintendo has been gradually increasing various prices for more than a year, although not singularly because of the component crisis. Before the Switch 2 was even released just over a year ago, all of its official accessories became more expensive in response to tariffs imposed by the U.S. federal government....
