An excellent addition to the SteamWorld series of games, and a delightful experience from beginning to end. I can happily recommend this to both fans of RPGs and fans of the strategy inherent to collectible card games. The fine folks at Image & Form Games should be proud of what they've created in SteamWorld Quest, and I look forward to giving other games in the series a try.

Overall, I enjoyed VA-11 HALL-A way more than I'd anticipated. It's a visual novel with a lot of heart, a heartwarming and emotional story, and some great aesthetics. It's also super cheap, so the relatively short play-time isn't so bad. I'd recommend giving it a go, even if you're not usually into VNs.

6 / 10.0 - Generation Zero
Apr 28, 2019

Generation Zero is a tragic story of mislaid potential and promise. The setting is unique and the game had potential to be a very memorable game, but unfortunately it fails to deliver anything meaningful.

With up to 4 player local multiplayer/coop this a truly outstanding title. Highly recommended especially for playing in teams with friends.

7.6 / 10.0 - God's Trigger
Apr 19, 2019

A fun game held back by some questionable design decisions, I can recommend God's Trigger, but only to a certain niche audience desperate for more Hotline Miami clones to play. A few cuts to unnecessary mechanics here, a little streamlining to avoid annoying the player there, and this game easily could've been in 8.5/10 territory. As a game of middling quality overall, it's likely to be buried in the deluge of Steam indie games instead.

7 / 10.0 - Silence
Apr 17, 2019

A short yet intriguing adventure which delves into the wondrous and escapist imaginations of two children during a harrowing time, all the while dealing with life or death situations.

Yoshi's Crafted World is the type of game designed to take you away from the stress of modern life. Featuring gorgeous visuals, a refined control scheme, and a mountain if content to be uncovered, it's one I find myself able to recommend to almost any Switch owner.

3.5 / 10.0 - Warparty
Apr 16, 2019

I can potentially see fans of RTS games loving this and enjoying it for what it is, but hardcore RTS fans will think this is just a dated attempt to bring the genre to switch. It could have been so much better. It should have been so much better!

Massive's dedication and care to development have resulted in The Division 2 definitively being one of this year's best games thus far.

8.1 / 10.0 - Vaporum
Apr 9, 2019

A solid outing by Fatbot Games for an oft-overlooked genre, Vaporum is one I can recommend, but not without caveats. If you weren't a fan of the genre before, this is unlikely to make you a believer. If you enjoy real-time pause-based systems or are simply looking to approach something new with an open mind, however, it might be worth giving Vaporum a chance.

7.4 / 10.0 - Fate/Extella Link

Divisive in nearly every facet, Fate/EXTELLA LINK is a game that lovingly caters to its demographic, however limited it may be.

Nelke and The Legendary Alchemists is a celebration of the Atelier series in the truest sense. Putting forward an experience both accessible to series newcomers and engaging for veterans, it does a brilliant job of captivating players despite its relatively easy to grasp gameplay loop. Though slightly let down by its RPG elements, it's a game I can recommend for anybody who enjoys careful planning and watching their efforts slowly come to fruition; your ideal town is right at your fingertips.

7 / 10.0 - Metro Exodus

Metro: Exodus is a beautiful disaster that will probably disappear from the radar quickly and will likely be remembered for its incredible graphic design, but forgotten for its lack of substance.

6 / 10.0 - God Eater 3
Mar 3, 2019

An empty game without much in the way of satisfaction. It's as if someone took the bare frame of what makes a God Eater game and sold it. God Eater 3 needed much more time in the oven, and while its polished presentation may look appealing on the surface, the hollow gameplay is where its true colors are shown. Compared to the precedent set by previous titles, it's a disappointment.

5.8 / 10.0 - JUMP FORCE

Jump Force is a game that promised so much but delivered so little. It's surprising that it achieved this despite recent anime/manga games faring so well and with such promising content.

I had a fun time playing this game, I still think there is some improvements to be made. Some good decisions was done such as making it a four player game and adding online mode. It also expands the original by a huge margin like you would expect and none of it feels out of place. My only question is what can come next, I do hope they try the platforming idea again like they did before.

Ace Combat 7 is a marvel of combat flight simulation. Putting forwards a package both concise in nature and packed with features and quirks to promote replayability and exploration, it's a game I struggled to put down. If you enjoy flight simulation, air combat, or even just a mess of explosions, bullets and lasers, I encourage you to give it a shot.

The beat-em-up gameplay won't blow you away, but Senran Kagura: Burst Re:Newal has a surprising amount of fun in just about every other avenue that ended up making this game a pretty enjoyable experience overall. I'm not a big fan of perverted games but this one is just so over the top nonsensical about it, it ends up being rather charming. Just remember kids: This is a wholesome game, when petting your underage waifu...don't you push that squeeze button.
