LawBreakers innovates at every turn, backing up its demanding learning curve with rock solid gameplay that rewards skill and style in equal measure.

If you like a slower story more about political intrigue wrapped up in a great presentation, you'll love The Pillars of the Earth.

5 / 10.0 - Smashbox Arena
Aug 9, 2017

Smashbox Arena's core gameplay makes for tension-filled multiplayer showdowns, proving that simple design is all you need sometimes. However, dearths of content, modes, and polish sell it short when it could shoot for so much more.

One to try for fans of strategy RPGs, Children of Zodiarcs has a solid combat system with an interesting hook. The game is let down by a poorly told story that fails to satisfy but it does have it's moments nonetheless.

6 / 10.0 - ICEY
Aug 8, 2017

ICEY tries to combine a fourth wall breaking narrative to 2D action game play with mixed results. It has some good moments, but for the most part it feels like a lesser version of both elements.

If you are a fan of Total War or Warhammer, I do not think I can persuade you from buying this DLC, if you’re someone who is more on the fence and already owns the Warriors of Chaos, you could wait until a sale to pick it up without missing much.

9 / 10.0 - Splatoon 2
Aug 7, 2017

Splatoon 2 brings back everything fun about the original and adds an awesome new horde mode to top it all off.The only thing holding this game back is Nintendo's perplexing decision to hide new content away from players for weeks at a time.

8.5 / 10.0 - Battle Brothers

Battle Brothers is a solid, exhilarating experience that might turn away some due to its difficulty, but attract others because of its challenge.

8.5 / 10.0 - SUPERHOT (VR)
Aug 2, 2017

SUPERHOT VR takes an already amazing game and translates it to VR in a very impressive manner. Some minor control issues and short length does hold it back a little, but I have never felt so close to being an action hero before.

While Little Nightmares has an interesting premise and plenty of promise, the lack of a story, any definable characters and the frustrating save point system are just too much for the interesting aesthetic and standard gameplay to overcome.

8 / 10.0 - Tacoma
Aug 1, 2017

While some may find Tacoma's length and lack of gameplay depth off-putting, it still manages to feel full in itself. A grounded, futuristic setting serves as Fullbright's most creative stage yet for thorough environmental storytelling that shines with an ordinary yet endearingly authentic cast of characters.

7.5 / 10.0 - Super Cloudbuilt
Jul 29, 2017

Super Cloudbuilt's fast paced platforming is the exact kind of thing that will draw in a dedicated speedrunning and leaderboard chasing crowd. For a casual fan who wants a challenge, it can also be a fun platformer, but I just wish it rewrote the nonsensical story and cut out the hub world.

8 / 10.0 - Sundered
Jul 29, 2017

Sundered is an interesting take on the Metroidvania genre. Eshe's journey to collect the elder shards is adrenaline fueled and challenging. While the game is not free from flaws, it more than worthy of a spot in most collections.

9.5 / 10.0 - Pyre
Jul 28, 2017

Pyre is simply a complete package. Everything from story and characters to art and gameplay is superb. While I could use nearly every positive word I know to praise this game, nothing can really describe the roller coaster of emotions I felt playing it. It is an endlessly surprising and satisfying experience that I would recommend to just about anyone.

7 / 10.0 - Archangel
Jul 28, 2017

While I wished for a few more interesting unique set pieces or boss fights, Archangel is still a fun rail shooter that did a great job making me feel like I really was stomping around in a giant anime robot.

Valkyrie Drive -Bhikkhuni- is a fun foray into fan service and brawler style fighting brought down by poorly written story content and a lack of enemy variety.

6.5 / 10.0 - Theseus
Jul 25, 2017

Theseus' story ends before it starts, and the combat is a bit too simple, but it provides a fantastic environment worth exploring and moments that really stood out thanks to how intriguing they were.

Unbox: Newbie's Adventure has its shortcomings, but what it offers at its core is all that you can really ask for. It's a proud collectathon, and the three bustling open worlds really allow this fact to shine.

The N. Sane Trilogy brings the golden age of 3D platforming back to the PlayStation 4. This collection maintains all that made the originals great but also making them accessible to the newest generation of gamers. This is a must have for fans of the originals and younger gamers might want to get in on the crate smashing action.

3 / 10.0 - Arizona Sunshine
Jul 21, 2017

The PSVR version of Arizona Sunshine suffers from porting issues like horrible pop-in and wonky controls. Even beyond those issues, it's a boring FPS with a terrible main character and uninteresting gameplay.
