Rustler is a medieval crime-game that's fun to mess around in, but not for long
Townscaper is less of a game, more of a tool to simply play around with. It has no goal either, but that is part of its almost hypnotic charm at being an enjoyable experience that allows us to simply play around as we see fit.
Mecha Knights: Nightmare is a mech shooter will lots of guns and hordes, but it could use more substance
While at times overwhelming in its frame of references and a little tedious in spots, No More Heroes 3 shines with unforgettable boss fights and genre bending setpieces
Tormented Souls is a very clumsy and corny survival horror game that plays like a love letter to genre giants.
Murder Mystery Machine is an enjoyable crime-solving adventure with a decent story hook. Just watch out for strange controls and weird noises.
The narrative dawdles around and fails to achieve much, and it doesn't run that well on the Switch either. The appeal here is in its visuals and soundtrack; otherwise, Necrobarista- Final Pour simply wasn't a captivating visual novel.
Spookware does what it sets out to do and is a great opening for an episodic microgame series. Let's just hope that some of the kinks are ironed out for the follow-up.
Aliens: Fireteam Elite is a fast-paced Alien-based game with solid gameplay but limiting options
Psychonauts 2 is an imaginitve platforming experience and a great narrative driven game that is unfortunately marred by a few technical issues.
Hoa is a lavish visual feast with a lack of mechanics to match
Nightdive Studios do a fantastic job with Quake Remastered. The 1996 classic lives yet again with some new tricks to boot.
Axiom Verge 2 continues the expansive story of the Axiom Verge universe, and while it might not do Indra justice, it does deliver on exceptional gameplay and exploration. Fans of the original game, or the genre, will not want to miss this experience.
While Twelve Minutes can be frustrating at times, the story and characters more than make up for it. Especially when backed up by the tight design and elegant visual/audio elements.
The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles isn’t just far and away the best entry in a long running franchise, it's one of the greatest visual novel games ever made.
Despite an underwhelming boss fight and some undercooked action elements, Boyfriend Dungeon is a great dating sim experience with a lot of heart
Strong themes and good writing can't save the game from itself. Procedural-generation ruins what would otherwise be a great narrative adventure.
Greak: Memories of Azur is a refreshing single-player co-op game with challenging adventure and some bumps.
A beautiful comic book aesthetic can't save Foreclosed from its mindlessly repetitive combat, poor story and characters, and overly linear levels.
With its vibrant artwork and nostalgia-inducing soundtrack, Fire Tonight is a low-pressure journey through young love and all its joys, even against the backdrop of a city on fire. It’s a short-but-sweet experience that’s really more about the story than the challenge of the puzzles, which, considering its lighthearted vibe, is totally okay.
