Submerged's beautiful setting and sunken post-apocalyptic world were not enough to offset the absence of combat and challenge.

82 / 100 - Until Dawn
Aug 29, 2015

Until Dawn is a fascinating horror experience, using the creativity of its gameplay to approach the genre in a new and surprising way. It's well-paced and the blending of horror with choice-based gameplay is a fantastic union.

66 / 100 - Volume
Aug 28, 2015

A stealth game built to satisfy the central tenets of the genre in the most discrete, distilled, trimmed-down way possible. Certainly well-crafted, but simply not that engaging.

Trine 3 is fun, but also a step back for the series. While the levels are glorious, the 3D movement is imprecise and the story is incomplete.

63 / 100 - Kyn
Aug 20, 2015

Kyn is a well-conceived, albeit slightly broken, party-based Action RPG that succeeds in creating interesting mission scenarios but struggles at character building and consistently enjoyable combat.

74 / 100 - Rocket League

Rocket League represents a simple idea well executed, forgoing variables like powerups and dramatically different vehicles or maps in favour of balance and tight mechanics.

Even if Crypt of the NecroDancer lacked its trademark rhythm-action mechanics, it would still stand out as a cleverly designed, feature-rich, immaculately streamlined take on a classic roguelike formula. As it is, it's extraordinary.

Escape Dead Island is an unnecessary spinoff to a franchise that deserved better. The awkward melee, flawed stealth and erratic shooting produce a bland adventure.

76 / 100 - CastleStorm
Jul 11, 2015

Castlestorm is an addictive and charming tower defense title that, despite a few minor faults, stands out from many of its ilk. With surprisingly deep and plentiful content, and easy to learn mechanics, this one is worth checking out.
