Honestly, if you're a fan of Road Rash you really must check Road Redemption out. Fast, brutal and huge amounts of fun, it hits all the right notes to make it an unmissable slice of arcade racing with an abundance of combat.
Packed with more content than ever, visuals that leave you astounded and a driving model that is exciting yet ever reliable, Forza Motorsport 7 is clearly ahead of the pack when it comes to racing games.
If you're a keen online gamer and haven't grown tired of the zombie epidemic as of yet, Dead Alliance may be worth a shot. Just try to forgive its less than stellar presentation. Oh, and forget about the single player add-on; it's really not worth your time or money.
Project CARS 2 won't please all racing game fans, but it'll delight those who crave realism and a challenge; those who want to push themselves to be better. Is that you?
It's a LEGO game alright, and these small but meaningful changes make it one of the better titles in the collection. Even if the Ninjago franchise doesn't interest you as much as Batman or Marvel Superheroes might, the gameplay and signature LEGO humour makes The LEGO Ninjago Movie Videogame well worth jumping into.
There are no moments of downtime to come down from the frustration or elation of your battles, it’s just long bouts of tension and stress that, for the most part, outweigh any joy that’s felt. It’s a shame, because at times Cuphead is an absolute pleasure, but more often than not I was left shouting vile things in anger at the screen, and I’m quite a patient person. So yeah, Cuphead is a work of art, and it will divide opinion like the best works should.
There are way worse games out there, though, and while I'd never personally recommend Hidden Dragon Legend to anyone, if you like the setting, style and the sound of it and you've got money to burn, you might as well give it a go, I guess.
Episode 2: The Pact far exceeded my expectations.
I think my current 19 hours spent with Cook, Serve, Delicious 2 speaks for itself, but it is a really fun game.
After experiencing the finished product, I'm pleased to see that Pankapu turned out to be such a charming and worthwhile adventure.
For ardent rally fans then, WRC 7 is well worth a look.
Sure, there are a few flaws here and there but for anyone who grew up on the classics from Sierra and Lucasarts, who cut their teeth on Beneath a Steel Sky or Broken Sword, or anyone who is, just now, discovering a love of graphical adventure games, The Journey Down presents the perfect opportunity to see just how fans, like you, can take what they've learned from games they love and turn them into a shining example of what this genre can offer.
If you didn't like the gameplay loop of Steamworld Dig, then there are probably not enough changes here to massively alter your opinion. But for those of us who did enjoy it, then Steamworld Dig 2 will happily suck us right back in, the refinements made creating the perfect balance between familiarity and freshness.
Ruiner's budget presentation does little to sully what is otherwise a challenging, addictive and sublime twin-stick shooter experience.
Even though summer is pretty much over, if you want to keep that carefree sun-loving feeling going for just a little while longer, Senran Kagura Peach Beach Splash may just be the key.
It's the perfect pick-up-and-play game, and the Switch's portable nature means Conga Master Party is right at home.
Caveman Warriors isn't so much a bad game then; it's just one that's a bit bland and exceedingly niche.
Minecraft Story Mode Season 2, Episode 3: Jailhouse Block isn't awful, it's just so disappointingly middling.
If you're a fan of challenging platformers or find yourself drawn to the ever popular art of speedrunning, SEUM is a title that you definitely shouldn't resist.
Muv-Luv Alternative is a great title within the genre, as it explores some really interesting sci-fi and political ideas. But at the end of the day you are mainly along for the ride for unsavoury reasons, and that can sometimes eat into the seriousness of the plot. I mean, just look at those uniforms!
