GameSpew's Reviews
As Michonne continues to struggle with her ghosts she often has to deal with flashbacks, giving the player glimpses of her old life.
Where some scenes raise a bit of a smirk, most of them fall flat. One character just ripped lines from Monty Python over and over again
The controls themselves are minimalistic, with only two attacks and a Witcher-esque dodge manoeuvre at your disposal, but I was still surprised at how far forward I inched in my seat when surrounded by a clutter of chunky, pixelated spiders
More than just a case of survival, Sheltered pushes you to grow and eventually thrive, and the moment your little unit starts to become somewhat self-sufficient, you’ll feel a real swell of pride
Being sensible, it's hard to find any real faults with Quantum Break
A compilation of atmospheric noises and physical triggers is acceptable, desired even, but throwing out loud noises or flashing images to get a fearful reaction is just lazy
[XCOM 2] functions well and the tactical gameplay is still solid as ever but retains the annoyances of the old systems
The customisation is insane. You can really do anything. This is more than Fallout 4 level of crazy facial manipulation
Possibly the most impressive aspect of Adr1ft is its graphics… A destroyed space station has never looked so good – especially not one that you can float around in
The game's graphic design… fits perfectly with the Stone Age era using the aesthetic style of cave drawings that though lack vibrant colour, give the game much more character
Stardew Valley's art style is vibrant and reminiscent of the SNES days, but it perfectly fits the overall aesthetic and feel of the game
The Witch and the Hundred Knight: Revival Edition is a great action-RPG with only a few issues that bring it down a peg or two
The lack of a story, other than the farmer being sick, really had me wondering what the point was
Reminiscent of George Orwell's Nineteen Eighty-Four, it's ideal for hardcore gamers, casual gamers, journalists, writers, editors, and anyone who wants to learn more about real-world political issues
12 is Better Than 6's art style is what first drew me in. It features a hand-drawn style where the environment, the weapons, and all the people look like they've just been sketched on a white piece of paper
[101 Ways to Die] looks very slick. It's clearly an indie title at heart, but developers Four Door Lemon have put a lot of effort in and the polish has paid off
[The Count Lucanor] has a way of masterfully mixing together silly and scary in that way that makes you feel like you should be giggling, but instead you're crying in the corner
Day of the Tentacle masterfully displays myriad forms of humour in every single scene so there’s something there that’ll appeal to everyone
When playing with others the visual prompts used to co-ordinate skill use and crystal surges are masterful, and should be taken note of by any developer looking to create a modern multiplayer game without voice chat
Dub Dash teaches you everything you need to play… deaths aren't unfair; you're just not trying hard enough
