GameSpew's Reviews
It’s frantic and it’s really tense at times when you get swarms coming from all angles or trying to fight off a boss, but it’s never impossible
[Kathy Rain] really sticks out as one of the best looking pixel art games I've played in a while
Developers at Sassybot should be proud of the brave choices they made covering these rarely talked about topics.
Credit where credit is due, the stylised versions of real cars do look impressive and details such as the shadows from the cars and spare wheels flapping around on the back of the RVs are nice
The environments are full of interactive objects which can be used to kill the party-goers, but in my view there are not nearly enough and some of them get repeated from level to level
The puzzles in Flat Kingdom vary in difficulty but are always satisfying to solve
The art style itself is a somewhat pleasant 3D cartoon, with vivid colours and bold, blocky textures. Unfortunately, the overall presentation looks like something from the early archives of your Xbox 360, not a current gen title
[Masquerade: The Baubles of Doom] never takes itself seriously, smashes the fourth wall, and even the potty jokes are funny
Providing a lengthy, engaging and rewarding challenge, it’s safe to say that Chronos is one of the best VR experiences I’ve had
Right now, Stephen’s Sausage Roll is the sixth game in the long (loooooong) list of games and tools featured on Stephen’s Increpare Games website, all of which he’s created himself within an incredibly short space of time. The vast majority of those games are free – and I’d urge you to check them out – but Stephen’s Sausage Roll is not. It’s one of the very few things that Stephen’s created that you have to pay for. But you should; it’s worth every penny. And not just because it comes with ketchup.
Dark Souls III is riveting, emotional, stunning and menacing. It immerses you in a fully realised world packed with secrets and backed by a sublime soundtrack. It's jaw-dropping throughout and it's an honour to have experienced
The story at the heart of The Park makes it a worthwhile trip if you've got £9.99 to burn
Actually, the match-three puzzles themselves aren’t bad, and each level offers a variety of puzzle styles to keep things feeling fresh
Paranautical Activity is not a good looking game. Imagine Doom remade in Minecraft by a blind man an you’d be about there
[Chronicles of Teddy] is a superb choice if you're looking to immerse yourself in something fantastical
There are no secrets and nothing cool to find, just a frustrating design mechanic of incessantly backtracking through areas you have already completed
[LOUD on Planet X] is predominantly a music game above anything else and a stellar selection of licensed music highlights that rather nicely
Severed takes one of the oldest and inaccessible genres in video games and reinvigorates it, giving it much wider appeal than its contemporaries
Whether you’re playing with your children, your significant other, or a room full of friends, Abraca is a tool to bring people together
Visually surreal, [Space Moth DX] feels like the cover art of an Atari 2600 game brought to life
