While the two Pokémon Let's Go versions look and play great, the games are too easy, the battles are too numerous, and some changes to the game have taken away some of the fun. It's good for the nostalgia, but not much else. Nevertheless, it is a decent game to hold us over until the next Pokémon game.

Insurgency: Sandstorm is one of the most immersive shooters on the market, and perfect for anyone that comes to the genre looking for grounded tactical combat. Variety can be lacking in some areas, but every round spent in-game is a standout experience.

A decent platformer with nods to difficult classics, there are a few problems with this one that keep the score down. Might be best to look elsewhere until a patch arrives.

Underworld: Ascendant is a very ambitious RPG from a well-seasoned staff that knows the genre. Unfortunately, there is so much that gets in the way of having a great time; a wasted potential from some talented individuals.

8 / 10.0 - Bad North

A "gateway game" to the strategy genre, Bad North's formula of simplicity yields a deceptively satisfying challenge.

6 / 10.0 - Fallout 76
Dec 14, 2018

While Fallout 76 has some things it does right, it is too buggy and has much too low of a player base to truly enjoy. While it will scratch that Fallout itch, it's not worth it at its current price. Wait for a sale.

7.5 / 10.0 - Steel Rats
Dec 13, 2018

While Steel Rats controls are clunky and the story/characters are forgettable, it is a blast to play. The combat is fun and special abilities are exciting to release havoc on enemies. Bottom line is this: if you enjoy combat racing games, this is a must play.

Dec 5, 2018

As compelling as it is creepy, Call of Cthulhu is a standard for any tabletop to digital treatment. As one mystery is solved, you find yourself asking more questions. The one at the top of the list is, "Why are you not playing it yet?"

7.5 / 10.0 - Hitman 2
Dec 4, 2018

Hitman 2 is a solid follow up to the 2016 reboot, but there wasn't much that stood out from its predecessor. If more Hitman is what you want, that is exactly what you'll get. There are some slight improvements, but anyone looking for new and drastic changes will not find them here.

8 / 10.0 - Tricky Towers
Nov 29, 2018

A fun take on the often-copied Tetris, Tricky Towers hits a lot of notes right. Players will be trying for "just one more round" and the magic spells keep the playing field level and interesting. While not a deep game, there is a lot to enjoy about Tricky Towers.

CHUCHEL easily goes down as one of the weirdest games you will ever play. It has such a unique art style and wholesome humor that anyone can enjoy. You'll find a few hours of a good time with this game, but nothing groundbreaking that shakes the gaming industry.
