PixelJunk Raiders is not completely to be thrown away because it has some interesting ideas, but this is not enough to make it stand out compared to other roguelikes: it is the classic wasted opportunity because it never manages to fully convince.

Maquette is an intriguing recursive puzzle game that offers a variety of logical challenges, certainly ingenious but sometimes difficult to solve.

One hell of a compilation, with new challenges and lots of customization options. But Capcom should let us buy the games one by one also.

The third chapter in the Bravely saga fails to improve the main issues of the previous games: while Bravely Default II offers an astounding depth for its job system, that requires players to really understand its mechanisms, the game lacks all of those elements that make a JRPG really impactful, from a meaningful story to a deep characterization.

A carefully packaged remake, visually very beautiful, respectful of the original. It touches your heart as it shatters your bones. With a sadistic smile. For everyone, but not everyone: if you don't like extremely demanding games, and if you are not a super saiyan of run and guns, approach Ghosts' n Goblins Resurrection only if you have the humility to proceed step by step. Otherwise, well, that's not for you. I tell you, and especially your nerves tell you.

Simple and immediate, beautiful to see and fun even in multiplayer, Super Mario 3D World is the "what if" of the history of Super Mario. But with obvious limitations compared to Super Mario Odyssey and the other chapters in 3D. Bowser's Fury tries to beat new paths, without avoiding a few slips.

Despite being a low budget game, Encodya is a solid and convincing point-and-click adventure, capable to leave a smile on the face of the genre's fans.

Persona 5 Strikers is the perfect sequel to Persona 5. A game that reinvents the formula that has made hundreds of thousands fall in love, while maintaining the pompous and unattainable style that characterizes the series. The first half of the adventure falls short in comparison with the second, and even at the highest difficulties the game fails to provide a real challenge, but these issues won't ruin what is, in fact, a really fun experience with an incredible cast of characters some of the best moments in the entire saga.

Little Nightmares 2 is a decisive step forward for Tarsier Studios. The art style is set to an high standard, but the gameplay noverlties don't all work perfectly. It remains a fascinating adventure, a must for anyone who loved the first Little Nightmares.

A nice, historically accurate and not too complex wargame. There is little truly new, if compared to the previous Field of Glory II, but the gameplay is solid and the medieval setting always fascinating.

Curious Expedition 2 is a fun and fascinating mix of roguelite, a stylish boardame and compelling adventures set in XIX century. The explorations are always fun play even if hard and punishing, with episodes of shining emergent narrative. Though, on the long run the fixed main quest structure and a little bit of déjà vu effect make the experience a little bit less magic than the first hours.

Destruction AllStars is undoubtedly fun and has a very original concept, but its lack of content represents the biggest flaw of the combat racing developed by Lucid Games.

Werewolf: The Apocalypse - Earthblood is an honest game that might be worth checking out if you're interested in the setting or in its mixture of (light) RPG elements, action and stealth. Just don't expect anything groundbreaking.

A nice rendition of a good boardgame held back by a confusing interface and a limited amount of content at launch.

Gods Will Fall tries to reinterpret the roguelike genre and some ideas show that the theoretical potential to do so is there, but the problem is that the technical structure ruins any good intuition (such as faulty AI). On the Switch, the rough controls also increase frustration.

Olija is a well-made and enjoyable action-adventure; lacking, however, of qualitative touches able to distinguish it from a tough competition. It remains, in any case, a well-made and enjoyable game.

While not innovating or distorting the original formula, Ys IX Monstrum Nox still proves to be an eventful and extremely rewarding action-JRPG.

An artistically inspired and technically interesting horror, based almost entirely on narration. Those who expected an adventure with a wider scope could be very disappointed.

Fatal Falls introduces two new biomes, a new boss fight and few but notable new weapons, enriching the Dead Cells experience for veterans and novices alike. All in all, a very good addition to the wonderful action roguelite by Motion Twin/Evil Empire.

A great new take in the roguelite world. Skul: The Hero Slayer is a must-have for all roguelite lovers, with so many balanced builds and combinations. Suffers from an high difficulty spike in the first hours and a not so great level design, but it's surely worth a try.
