PSX Brasil's Reviews

Mar 5, 2024

The Mobius Machine is, at its core, a decent metroidvania hampered by the disproportion between the enormous size of its map and the low variety of scenarios, discoveries, rewards, and even resources that help revisit the world more efficiently. Those who like challenges will have something to find here, but for the rest, the real challenge will be to maintain interest and patience.

Mediterranea Inferno challenges the narrative, social and emotional conventions of what we have already seen in visual novels, and gets it right by problematizing conveniences in an unabashed and incisive way, without shame in saying, showing or poking at themes that are still so sensitive in a world that prefers to ignore its own scars.

85 / 100 - WWE 2K24
Mar 4, 2024

WWE 2K24 is better than its predecessor, bringing new types of fights, adjustments to game modes and new features that enrich the gameplay of the series, as well as a Showcase that sets a very high standard of quality to be followed by future games in the series.

Without any big news or any innovations, Hiveswap Friendsim has in the well-written text and in unexpected situations its greatest strength. Visually unstable and mechanically simple, it's a recommendation for fans of the genre who don't expect to get involved with a great story, but rather with the misadventures of a friend-making aficionado.

60 / 100 - Pesterquest
Mar 3, 2024

Pesterquest is a direct sequel, in terms of theme, story, and mechanics, to the previous game. Without any substantial improvement, what is left is the same sharp text, but one that doesn't dare beyond what we've seen before in the franchise. Even with some visual improvements, it's nothing more than a "more-of-the-same".

Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons Remake retells the exciting story of the brothers, keeping the basic concepts of the original game, but improving its graphics and sound in a considerable way. However, technical problems go against these improvements, and some fixes are needed so that the game can reach its full potential.

PowerWash Simulator: Warhammer 40,000 Special Pack brings five new vehicles to the ever-growing list of services present in the game. Those who enjoy the base game find a few more hours to relax here, but it's not a bundle of services that will convince reluctant players to give the game a try.

65 / 100 - Foamstars
Feb 29, 2024

FOAMSTARS is a game of two extremes where not all the foam and style in the world can hide the lack of substance. It shows signs of variety and depth, but it sins by being shallow. Its short matches entertain but don't hold you in the long run and the repetitiveness in its PvE mode tires before the player sees the best it has to offer.

With its well-executed retro personality, Sydney Hunter and the Curse of the Mayan is a 2D platforming adventure with plenty of challenges and items to find. The protagonist could be a little more agile, but in general, the game fulfills its role of revisiting styles of the past and improving them.

Ufouria: The Saga 2 stands out against a backdrop of reheated content because it is not limited to a simple emulation of what was already established. By daring in form, aesthetics and content, the game stands out for its simplicity, charisma, and especially for not using nostalgia as a crutch.

Smalland stands out for presenting a setting in a rich and diverse universe, being excellent for creation and survival games. Greater touches and refinements can further improve the experience over time, but it's perhaps a game that's better suited for those who aren't looking for a very robust combat system.

95 / 100 - Balatro

Balatro is a true phenomenon. Simple in its execution, but giant in its complexity.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is awesome. FFVII Remake's excellent battle system is further enhanced, the story leaves the player (whether a veteran or newcomer to the series) intrigued to know what will happen, and there is an immense amount of content to be explored.

80 / 100 - Promenade
Feb 21, 2024

Promenade is delicate, light and full of life, without being simple-minded or silly. With beautiful visuals and sharp mechanics, the game brings a series of intriguing and challenging tasks that value the player's ability to deal with problems, thus offering a fun and, at the same time, rewarding experience.

70 / 100 - Skull and Bones
Feb 21, 2024

Skull and Bones adopts the theme of piracy in a naval battle game that delivers good combat in a well-crafted fantasy. There is still a lack of precise adjustments to improve the experience as a whole, improvements to poorly developed mechanics, and the endgame in its current state is deplorable. Despite this, there is an opportunity here for fans of the style and setting to have fun, as long as they understand what the game proposes.

80 / 100 - Pacific Drive
Feb 20, 2024

Pacific Drive is an intriguing survival title that appeals to the unknown and the player's curiosity, with unique and engaging moments. By merging vehicle and survival, Ironwood Studios nails its proposal and boldness.

70 / 100 - qomp2
Feb 19, 2024

qomp2's peculiar movement scheme is, at the same time, its biggest differentiator as a puzzle and platformer, but also a possible source of frustration. With coherent mechanics, but little varied visuals and a creative potential that is not explored as it could be, it is a title that will please lovers of the genre while it lasts, as long as they do not expect something striking or surprising.

A Little To The Left is nothing exceptional, but precisely because it is unpretentious it can surprise you positively. Get ready to relax and spend hours organizing all kinds of messes, barely noticing the time passing.
