Big Brain Academy: Brain vs. Brain manages to successfully bring the dormant franchise to the new generation. Its almost complete focus on multiplayer and the relatively low number of minigames preclude a more incisive recommendation, but players who are aware of what to expect will find here one of the best educational games in years. In the list of games that marked my 2021, Archvale has certainly secured its place by delivering a breathtaking bullet hell experience. Even with some problems, the title is a delight to venture, especially considering its intense combat, extensive explorations, tactical variety and wide freedom. Given all this, there is no way not to be enchanted by the glories of this experience, which may seem small at first, but which in a few moments already proves to be beyond epic.

Red Ronin is an indie that unites action and board mechanics in an exciting turn-based tactical game. The visual and sound effects are very stylish and convey the feeling of extreme skill on the part of the protagonist. The first half of the campaign is excellent and will hook the player, but the final missions can be a rather tiring exercise in trial and error. Pokémon Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl honor the roots of the source material and elevate it in many ways. Marking a very welcome return to top-down aesthetics, the remakes rescue some of what made Pokémon special a few years ago. Besides that, the narrative ends up being sacrificed so the game can focus on the action. Without exaggeration, Demon Turf is perhaps my favorite Switch 2021 indie. Platform fans in need of rusting their fingers can't miss this fantastic demostration of very high quality controls, and anyone interested in simply meeting a great game can give Beebs adventure a chance without thinking twice. It's worth getting to know this lovely world of hipster demons and enjoy the good amount of content the game has to offer.
