GameBlast's Reviews

Feb 4, 2021

Something will always change every time we take off for another adventure in the colorful and crazy space of Project Starship X. The game makes great use of very simple mechanics in conjunction with random elements, resulting in a fun and addictive experience within the shoot 'em up genre. What I liked most was the fact that it is not a game that becomes too easy after we learn or memorize the patterns of the enemies.

7 / 10.0 - TOHU
Feb 4, 2021

Despite having a weak and very short storyline, Tohu offers good challenges and guarantees a few hours of entertainment in a fun and eccentric world. Its simple gameplay makes the game easy to learn and very accessible. For veterans of the point and click genre, the title is a highly recommended item in the collection.

The idea of controlling the furious werewolves and all their destructive potential in video games has always seemed very cool to me, although it has never been properly explored. Werewolf: The Apocalypse - Earthblood manages to convey that feeling very well, making each encounter a brutally fun moment. Even with the negative points raised, I consider Cahal's journey an excellent choice for those looking for a good hack and slash action game and an unmissable adventure for fans of the genre.

Skul: The Hero Slayer is a very interesting action game. While the head changing system offers good variety, area patterns are strongly repetitive. The experience, however, is quite positive and I am sure that fans of roguelike games will be able to appreciate it, especially if they do not play it in Brazilian Portuguese.

9 / 10.0 - Hitman 3
Feb 3, 2021

Hitman III masterfully concludes the World of Assassination trilogy, subtly expanding the essence of its stealth gameplay implemented in 2016. It is a global conspiracy and espionage tale with well-grounded ideas, visually rich in details and full of possibilities, allowing the player to take smart approaches to improve the art of murder.

6.5 / 10.0 - Turrican Flashback
Feb 2, 2021

Turrican Flashback is a double-edged sword. On the one hand, it presents an opportunity for younger generations to have the chance to enjoy excellent games from a series that has a prominent place in a memorable time. On the other hand, it is a little disappointing for not having everything that we, who lived through that period, know that exists in the Turrican franchise, in a package that is not bad, but that we know is incomplete and could be much better.

8.5 / 10.0 - Habroxia 2
Feb 1, 2021

Habroxia 2 does an excellent job of transporting us back to a time when shoot 'em ups were strong on arcades and consoles in the 1990s. The game features sounds, visuals and other details that bring us back to classics like Galaga, Gradius, R-Type and many others that have become symbols of an era. Whether casual or hardcore, here we have an excellent option for those who want the almost perfect balance of challenge, fun and quality. Embark fearlessly on this space adventure and have fun, Habroxia 2 is a delicacy.

6.5 / 10.0 - Deck of Ashes
Jan 30, 2021

Deck of Ashes basically only appeals to its target audience. Even presenting an interesting card game system, the other elements of the game are only average. Graphics, sound, design and animations are competent, although unattractive. Therefore, we have a title highly recommended for fans of the genre, but not for those who do not enjoy the popular “heart of the cards”.

Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends & the Secret Fairy manages to present improvements in all aspects in relation to the previous game, consolidating itself as one of the highlights of the series. While the previous game had the difficult task of presenting a world of new possibilities, Ryza 2 was also in the complicated position of reinforcing the qualities of its predecessor - the game achieved that goal perfectly. For those who are curious, but have not yet played the predecessor, I recommend checking both in chronological order for a better experience.

7 / 10.0 - Olija
Jan 28, 2021

Olija instigates with its premise and unique ambience. Exploring a exotic country in the company of a castaway is pleasant, specially when using the harpoon teleporting mechanics. The journey has well-balanced moments of exploration, platform and combat, and there are some secrets to find, and the low-resolution visual pixel art and music bring an exotic air to the game world. However, it's easy to be bothered by the simplicity of several aspects: the plot and universe are too enigmatic, and the challenges are too basic. In the end, Olija is interesting while it lasts, but, unfortunately, does not fully exploit its potential.

8.5 / 10.0 - DG2: Defense Grid 2
Jan 28, 2021

Tower defense games may have few representatives in the current scenario, but Defense Grid 2 fills this gap with praise, presenting a fun and dynamic gameplay, in addition to good challenges and a very high replayability factor. If you miss this type of game, I strongly recommend that you give this title a try.

In general, Re: ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- The Prophecy of the Throne brings an interesting addition to the universe of the series of light novels and anime. Although linear, its well-developed story, captivating characters and the good use of voices and 2D visuals make the title a good visual novel. Even with a little underdeveloped gameplay, that alone makes the game worthwhile and made me very interested in delving deeper into the universe of Re: Zero.

9 / 10.0 - Cyber Shadow
Jan 25, 2021

Cyber Shadow thrills with its fast-paced and accurate action in a modern adventure inspired by classics. It's quite fun to control a cyber ninja through stages full of diverse situations that require mastery of his various abilities, on a journey full of surprises. The challenge is frequent and there is not much room for error, but the generous presence of checkpoints mitigates the frustration of being defeated. Even so, it is important to be prepared to face irritating peaks of difficulty. The retro atmosphere captivates with the elaborate 8-bit pixel art visual style, the music that mixes chiptune and real instruments and the well-built world. In the end, Cyber Shadow is an exceptional action game.

Jan 24, 2021

Tell Me Why is a beautiful and interesting narrative game with charismatic and complex characters. Despite some specific technical problems, Tell Me Why is recommended to those who like investigative games with intense stories and immersive experiences.

8 / 10.0 - Oddmar
Jan 19, 2021

Oddmar enters a mythological universe rich in philosophies through a simple and vaguely surprising narrative, but selects concepts that exude excellence such as intelligent level design, together with a stunning audiovisual combination. Even with flaws that should prevent some players from returning to their vibrant and colorful world, the MobGe Limited title still features remarkable features and presents itself as one of the most successful games on the mobile platform in recent years.

Override 2: Super Mech League gets it right on bringing a generous amount of robots with different styles, colors and sizes to choose from. Also positive is the option for game sessions with friends at home - or even online if you agree to buy the game together. However, on consoles, performance is a point that gets in the way of the experience. It is better to choose a PC with a good configuration or even one of the new generation consoles. If your vibe is to play solo, get ready for a lot of repetition and slow progress towards accumulating pennies and unlocking irrelevant little things.

8.5 / 10.0 - Cyber Hook
Jan 13, 2021

With an adrenaline-pumping proposal, Cyber Hook pits the player against the clock in challenging stages. With gameplay that mixes parkour and superheroes, it is possible to use various skills, such as the hook with rope and the time warp, to reach the end of each level by going through platforms, climbing walls and jumping through chasms. With great visuals and lots of levels to play, this is another recommended title for your library.

Brigandine: The Legend of Runersia is a strategic RPG and at the same time a project that clearly understands the values of the genre to deliver a quality experience. With elements that add quality of life to the experience, it is difficult not to recommend the title to people who are interested in the genre.
