Tales of Arise: Beyond the Dawn didn't meet all my expectations, but I'm glad I did. I really enjoyed this chapter in the Tales series, so I was very happy to return to it 2 years later. I think the stage is set for a real sequel, and Nazamil's new character should be a central part of it. So, if you're thirsty to go back, go ahead with the DLC. Otherwise, you're not missing out on anything completely unmissable.

Although Song of Nunu lacks depth, it picks up on the charm of the character interactions and weaves a simple but interesting story that will keep you hooked right to the end. It's great fun to play from start to finish. With a lifespan of around ten hours and little replayability, the game is still worth playing if you're looking for a cozy experience or a game to play with your younger ones.

Wild Card Football's arcade experience succeeds in its main aim: to be above all a fun experience. We enjoy creating our own team, customizing it and using our powers to overcome any opponent. Nevertheless, matches quickly become repetitive, and the only interest is to play online. Frustration can set in if your opponent takes a malicious pleasure in waiting until the end of the countdown. Perhaps I'd have liked even shorter quarters, and why not cut the game in half? Technical problems also seem to greatly hamper the game on certain platforms.

All in all, Super Bomberman R 2 offers a well-stocked online mode, but disappoints in single-player. The pleasure of battles royales or other online options fades when you try to advance in the main story. Fortunately, there's something for everyone, and the game is still very enjoyable. The problem is that 2023 is a year in which several great games have been released, making it harder to justify the purchase of Super Bomberman R 2. Nevertheless, if you're a fan of the genre, you'll enjoy it. For others who are new to the title, you may want to hold out for a discount, or have it offered as part of a subscription service.

Dimension Shellshock is far from bad, but lacks ambition. The new characters navigate familiar territory, but still demonstrate some welcome differences from the original set. Survival mode is certainly a welcome addition, but quickly becomes tiresomely repetitive. In the end, the novelty wears off quickly. Dimension Shellshock is perfect for mega-fans of Shredder's Revenge, but not the missing argument for those reluctant to take the plunge into the sewers of New York.

Daymare: 1994 Sandcastle is a good survival horror. The game has its faults, whether it's the poor variety of weapons and enemies or its uneven graphics. Nevertheless, the many positive points, such as the puzzles, story and combat mechanics, outweigh the negatives. The game is very difficult even for veterans of the genre (unless you play in story mode) and is not for everyone. However, fans of Resident Evil or Dead Space can look forward to this new title in the Daymare saga.

7 / 10.0 - Under the Waves
Sep 19, 2023

Rather simple in its conception, Under The Waves immerses the player in a narrative dealing with several subjects. The atmosphere and the way the story is told are undoubtedly the strengths of this game developed by the Parallel Studio team. Nevertheless, loading times, the pace of certain phases and technical problems detract from the overall experience. Still, the game should appeal to players looking for an immersive narrative experience.

Punch Club 2: Fast Forward brings some interesting new features to the first opus in the series, with more enjoyable training sessions, interesting side missions, especially in the first part of the game, and a whole new universe to explore. Humor is also on the agenda, with the integration of many 80s inspirations. Nevertheless, the title suffers from a marked sense of repetition in the second half of the game. Not to mention the technical problems that completely spoil the adventure for players who don't realize until very late that they have a problem in their adventure.

Disney Illusion Island is far from being a bad game. But it's also far from being a great game. The target audience is undoubtedly the family rather than the group of friends. Those taking their first steps into the world of video games will find something charming, enjoyable and at their level. For the others, they'll have to look to the magic of Mickey and his group rather than the challenge the game may represent. Because there isn't any. If the Disney magic works for you, it's still a good buy. For the rest of us, we'll move on to another appeal. Something like Rayman Legends might be a better fit.

Sold at a low price, Dr. Fetus' Mean Meat Machine is certainly not the experience that fans of the Super Meat Boy franchise have been waiting for. The title offers an original variation on the puzzle games of the same type, with a world that's as well-realized as ever. Nevertheless, balancing and latency problems detract from the overall experience that the Headup Development team is trying to deliver. The idea isn't bad, but it lacks a little polish. Not to mention that it's more than a little strange to see this kind of game for the franchise when gamers are still hoping for a proper sequel to the first opus.

Crash Team Rumble is a lot of fun, and you'll enjoy trying out the different character classes, even in single-player mode. Its pleasant gameplay and successful art direction won't be enough to keep the title alive for months if the developers at Toys for Bob don't add content soon. Despite its lower retail price than a traditional AAA, I'm not convinced that the game will work when users will regularly have to dig deep into their pockets to obtain the season pass. My advice, perhaps, is to wait for a discount unless you're a huge fan of the franchise.

Story of Seasons is a good game for relaxing. There's plenty to do and discover, but given the length of the game, these various tasks can become monotonous and repetitive. The game has an addictive feel to it, and the hours spent playing are hard to miss. Still, I would have preferred more events and interactions to develop relationships with the inhabitants. If you like games like Harvest Moon, Stardew Valley or even FarmVille, you'll have a great time in Forgotten Valley.

Boltgun is, on the whole, excellent when it comes to its basic mechanics and presentation, but the game fails to make an impression on players' imaginations. It's a safe bet, in fact, that it would quickly fall into oblivion were it not for the mega-franchise supporting it. If you're nostalgic for old-school shooters or a big fan of the 40K craze, Auroch's title is sure to please. On the other hand, unlike the phenomenal level design of Dusk or the frenzy of Ultrakill, Boltgun is unlikely to leave its mark on the videogame universe if only for a few hours.

Stranded: Alien Dawn offers a rather advanced management experience that will please many fans of the genre, even if it doesn't reinvent anything. The tutorial is almost too comprehensive, but does a good job of preparing you for your game. Neophytes may find the numerous management elements a little confusing. The developers have provided sufficient content, even if the variety of the bestiary is rather limited. While the overall atmosphere is rather successful, the same cannot be said of the console gameplay, which is rather difficult. I strongly advise you to play the PC version, which is much more enjoyable.

7 / 10.0 - Hotel Renovator
May 19, 2023

Hotel Renovator is overall not a bad simulation game experience. The title developed by Two Horizons takes several elements found in the competition while adapting the overall experience. The decoration of the rooms is really fun and you don't feel the hours passing. It's a pity that we are constantly interrupted in the story mode and that the management of the lighting effects doesn't allow faultless modifications. It would also have been interesting to add visual guides to place our objects in a more uniform way. The regulars of the genre will be charmed by the proposal while the neophytes will try to understand why the game is interesting.

Is The Last Case of Benedict Fox a good game? The answer is in half-tone. The game clearly masters some subjects: the atmosphere, the suspense, the gloomy side of the game. There are also some excellent puzzles in this game. And that's the main reason why we return to it again and again. But there are also the fighting and platforming phases. And these moments might be enough to make you drop out faster than you think. If ever the work is done on the part of the developers to improve this, the game will be worth the cost. But it will have to be done quickly, otherwise The Last Case of Benedict Fox could fall into the abyss.

7 / 10.0 - Meet Your Maker
Apr 7, 2023

Meet Your Maker reminds me a bit of Mario Maker, but much more violent and serious. The player has the opportunity to exercise his creativity and it is fun to go through the levels to complete them. There is nothing wrong with the gameplay, which is responsive and precise. Nevertheless, I still don't know if the game will have the opportunity to shine for several months. While the developers have already planned, and announced, additional content, I have the impression that the content generated by others will not be enough. The experience benefits from being in the PlayStation Plus program since its official release, but will it be enough to make up for the feeling of repetition that sets in within a few hours?

7 / 10.0 - MLB The Show 23
Apr 5, 2023

MLB The Show 23 has the same problems as other sports simulation experiences in recent months. The series seems to stagnate and doesn't bring enough novelties to push fans to pay for it every year. While we were used to the SIE San Diego team innovating every year, this is no longer the case. The integration of the shared save, the presence from the release on the Xbox Game Pass service or the excellent storylines mode featuring The Negro Leagues are not enough. If the gameplay is still as good as ever, it is not possible for me to recommend the purchase to a player who already has last year's edition. Not to mention that the title still doesn't offer translation in languages other than English.

7 / 10.0 - PathCraft
Jan 26, 2023

An interesting game for children in a magical environment. From the beginning, she had to work on her analytical skills, perseverance and deduction. As an adult, I had to rack my brain and think to keep leveling up. To enjoy PathCraft, you have to like this type of game since it is repetitive. The game is for anyone who likes this type of puzzle that evolves in difficulty. For my daughter and I, the monotony of the game makes us drop out quickly. I know it's a puzzle game and I love that type of game, but I expected to do something else, or maybe in a different way. For the ADHD in me, it becomes long to do the same thing over and over again, even if the levels are different in the positioning of the blocks, the principle remains the same.

SEASON: A Letter to the Future offers a peaceful and uncomplicated experience. The game only asks us to take some time for ourselves and enjoy the present moment. The scenery and sounds are beautiful. But as soon as we look closer, we notice the shortcomings of the game. The controls are far from perfect. The dialogues rarely make sense. And some might find the game a bit repetitive on what we have to accomplish. The game won't be remembered, but it might allow many to take a break from their tumultuous lives. And this is a more than positive point.
