8 / 10.0 - Intravenous
Oct 22, 2022

Intravenous is a precise, tactical stealth shooter with an isometric perspective that clearly pays homage to the early Splinter Cell games. If you enjoy solid stealth gameplay and working with lighting, but also want a bit of a challenge, this game is definitely for you.

8 / 10.0 - Deathloop
Oct 21, 2022

Following the success of Dishonored, the developers at Arkane slightly updated their proven formula and incorporated it into an original take on roguelike gameplay. In terms of gameplay, you won’t find anything entirely new here—just the same incredibly fun combat/stealth system. Blackreef is a joy to explore, and the desire to uncover everything will carry you to the end without the slightest difficulty. The developers could perhaps have been a bit bolder and overhauled the gameplay more, and they could have toned down the linearity as well. But why complain when Deathloop works so well?

The arrival of Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection on PC screens can be described as a success, even though a few minor flaws and technical issues bring the title down a notch. Despite this, you’ll thoroughly enjoy both adventures, and I personally hope that we’ll eventually see a remaster and subsequent release of the previous installments as well—something I’d definitely welcome on PC. On behalf of us at Gaming Professors, the PC version of Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection earns a splendid 7.5 out of 10. Were it not for the minor flaws, I would have gladly given the game 8.5, or even 9 out of 10.

The Slovak game Way of the Hunter immerses players in the world of a big-game hunter. It provides a detailed look at this lifestyle and explores both Slovak and American hunting cultures. The game’s sophistication and realism—beyond the animals’ movements and the graphics themselves—are top-notch. For a slightly higher price, you can learn what it’s like to be a hunter, even if you do encounter a few gameplay flaws while hunting.

7 / 10.0 - Stories Untold
Oct 14, 2022

Stories Untold is a fascinating return to the good old days of text-based adventure games. It’s an intriguing experiment that starts off strong and draws you into a mysterious world full of puzzles, but ends with a rude awakening. The puzzles and the atmosphere as you solve them will literally consume you, which is also the game’s main draw. On the other hand, the conclusion in the fourth episode—in the form of a walking simulator—was a huge disappointment for me, especially since it was the final episode. Unfortunately, the story is rather bland, and at a certain point, you’re really only playing because you enjoy solving the puzzles, even though you can already guess how the story will end.

The Wandering Village is a truly great game, and I'm quite curious to see where it goes from here. Thanks to Onbu, the developers have definitely managed to create a project that, in its own way, stands out from other city-building games. The beautifully rendered graphics certainly help bring it all to life.

7 / 10.0 - Soulstice
Oct 11, 2022

Soulstice is trying to carve out a niche for itself in the action-packed beat-'em-up genre, and it’s only partially succeeding. Although the main plot doesn’t offer anything particularly original, it serves as the backdrop for an interestingly tragic story of two sisters whose bond was so strong that they remained inseparable even after death. It’s a shame that the developers tried so hard to copy older titles that they couldn’t avoid some of the same issues that plagued those games back then. However, if you’re in the mood to let off some steam, Soulstice offers exactly the right kind of brutal combat, a dark atmosphere, and a challenging experience.

8.5 / 10.0 - Slime Rancher 2
Oct 10, 2022

Slime Rancher 2 takes the best elements from the first game and adds a ton of new features that players have been asking for. It expands the roster of adorable slimes, offers new materials, upgrades, and a crafting system that lets you decorate your base however you like. While it’s not a groundbreaking new release that offers a completely fresh experience, that doesn’t bother me at all. Slime Rancher fans have gotten exactly what they asked for, and I myself can’t praise the sequel enough. Although it’s currently in early access, the game is already worth buying if you’re completely new to this world or want to dive into the challenging life of a slime breeder for a second time. WARNING! Highly addictive! Consume in moderation, or there’s no turning back.

Spirit of the Island appears to be a laid-back survival game where you can live a peaceful life on an island and explore a mysterious story. However, the lack of a tutorial can make it very frustrating. The pros still outweigh the cons, but given the high price, we recommend buying the game on sale or waiting until the full version is released.

9 / 10.0 - Lost Judgment
Oct 10, 2022

Lost Judgment is a fantastic sequel to the first game, once again putting you in the shoes of the suave private detective Takayuki Yagami. Compared to the previous game, the story offers a far more sophisticated plot and storyline that will make you feel like you’re in the middle of a first-class Japanese thriller. Thanks to refined gameplay and even better combat mechanics, along with the addition of side stories, the game clearly stands out from the Yakuza series even more than the first installment.

9 / 10.0 - Risk of Rain 2
Oct 9, 2022

This adrenaline-fueled third-person shooter will keep you hooked for hours on end, and every time you fire it up, you’ll have a different experience. The game boasts truly entertaining gameplay and has almost no downsides. The graphics might not appeal to traditional gamers, but if you enjoy the roguelike genre, you’ll be hooked on Risk of Rain 2 like crazy.

8.5 / 10.0 - TRAIL OUT
Oct 9, 2022

Trail Out is a solid and well-made clone that draws heavily on the legendary FlatOut series. If, like me, you were frustrated by the quality of the last two installments and were looking for something to satisfy your craving for a return—which I hope we’ll see someday—Trail Out is the one. Unfortunately, the game also has a number of shortcomings, though these can be fixed with updates. We give it eight and a half out of ten.

Unfortunately, Blood Rage: Digital Edition doesn’t quite live up to the quality of its board game counterpart. The game’s core mechanics work well, and at its core, it does offer some of what the board game version provides. However, the graphics are quite lackluster at certain stages and moments, and the user interface can be a bit of a struggle. The original version is undoubtedly one of the best board games on the market, but the digital adaptation is riddled with bugs and, above all, poor design choices. You’ll only truly enjoy the game if you have a great deal of patience or are a die-hard gamer who wants to play against the AI.

7.5 / 10.0 - Ancestors Legacy
Oct 5, 2022

Ancestors Legacy is an enjoyable game set during the Golden Age of the Vikings. It’s an RTS that borrows mechanics from Company of Heroes and tries to use them to its advantage, which it manages to do quite well. However, aside from certain elements and the game’s setting, it lacks true originality, and in some respects, you’ll feel like something is missing. This is especially true since, in some sections, you’re playing more of a story-driven stealth strategy game and are largely limited by assigned units for most of the time. It’s definitely not a game that isn’t worth trying, though, and fans of this genre will surely enjoy it.

The Walking Dead: Season 2 is an enjoyable game that perfectly complements the first season and expands on the story of young Clementine as she struggles to survive in a world filled with all kinds of monsters, from zombies to humans. While it doesn’t quite match the quality of the first installment, it’s still a very above-average game—even if you don’t get to play much and instead spend most of your time immersing yourself in the story.

8.5 / 10.0 - Judgment
Oct 4, 2022

Judgment is a very well-done port that didn’t disappoint and is truly impressive. While playing, I didn’t encounter any optimization issues, crashes, or anything like that. Visually, the game is truly appealing and full of detail. The only thing I could criticize regarding the port and controls is an occasional issue with the controls when playing with a keyboard and mouse. However, this doesn’t happen frequently—only in certain situations—and all you need to do is move slightly to realign the camera and character as needed. Yagami’s story, the game’s execution, pacing, and concept are definitely worth overlooking this minor flaw. In return, you’ll get fantastic entertainment from the world of Yakuza, which will pull you into its clutches and won’t let go.

DioField Chronicle is quite difficult to evaluate, because the game really isn’t worth the price the developers are asking for it. The graphics aren’t impressive, the characters are completely emotionless, and there’s really no strategy involved, since you’re constantly forced to make direct attacks. You have virtually no interaction with your companions, and the story is unengaging because you have no motivation.

7.5 / 10.0 - F1 Manager 2022
Oct 2, 2022

F1 Manager 2022 is a very successful debut from Frontier Developments, and if the studio plans to further develop this series in the future, it could become an unrivaled management game—perhaps even the best I’ve ever seen. Of course, it also depends on whether the Formula 1 championship appeals to you. F1 Manager 2022 can appeal to both types of players—F1 fanatics as well as absolute newcomers. However, the overall experience is marred by subpar visuals and occasional technical glitches. From us at Gaming Professors, F1 Manager 2022 earns a solid 7.5 out of 10.

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle R is a fun beat 'em up that’s perfect for whiling away a few afternoons and enjoying some chill time with your friends. While the keyboard controls are absolutely hellish and the difficulty spikes can be a bit baffling at times, the voice acting, music, and animations really elevate the game, and all in all, it’s a pretty solid title.
