Sword and Fairy 7 is an unpolished and, in many ways, problematic game, yet it is also an interesting one that can be recommended, particularly to certain groups of players. Fans of East Asian culture will particularly enjoy it. Ideally, those who aren’t put off by the verbosity of Japanese visual novels or the melodramatic complexity of Chinese TV dramas, and who have an appreciation for Chinese fantasy aesthetics. However, the game could also be appreciated by those who simply enjoy exploring the lesser-known corners of the global video game industry and place greater value on unique experiences than on technical perfection.

The PC version of God of War is flawless and a must-play for every gamer. Flawless optimization, perfect gameplay, Norse mythology, a cinematic experience, and a brilliantly written story about a father and son. I tried to find a flaw or a negative aspect. I put in 50 hours of playtime and found nothing. I played through the game in detail and became even more convinced—this is a true masterpiece in the gaming world. I proudly rank it among the TOP 10 games I’ve ever played.

Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor – Martyr is a well-crafted game set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe, which clearly focuses on solid gameplay, action, and "blood and gore" elements. The characters and their specializations are complemented by a weapon-based skill system that is very well-designed and adds even more variety. However, after a few hours of initial excitement, the game can start to feel very repetitive, mainly due to the generic, repetitive tasks.

Ghostwire: Tokyo is undoubtedly one of this year’s most pleasant surprises. The combination of an open-world action-adventure and an RPG is a success. The game’s story makes you want to keep going and uncover the secrets of its world. In some situations, the tension is palpable—not just because of the combat, but also due to the various terrifying encounters you’ll face. Completing side missions assigned by spirits, yokai, nekomata, or tanuki also has its own charm and fits perfectly into the game. It’s clear that a great deal of care was put into the side missions as well. In terms of gameplay and the absence of weapons, this is a relatively fresh take on the FPS genre that simply captivates. However, the game is slightly let down by minor bugs and, at times, unbalanced combat in certain situations. It will most excite fans of Japan and its local folklore and legends.

Lifeslide takes you on a brief journey through colorful polygonal scenery accompanied by soothing, meditative music, creating a peaceful, Zen-like experience. However, due to its finicky controls and very short playtime, it doesn’t hold your attention long enough to make you want to come back to it.

There is certainly room for improvement—such as better overall design—but the overall impression is largely positive, and it’s definitely worth a try. When I played it, I bought Grow: The Song of Evertree for around 450 CZK, which is a fair price considering I spent just over thirty hours playing it. Overall, the game captivates with its philosophical concept and captivating music, offering a gentle, rewarding experience with added value. Although there is room for growth, the foundations are solid.

Time Loader is a fantastic puzzle game that, thanks to its simple gameplay and friendly style, will captivate even the youngest players. So if you want to keep your kids entertained at the computer with a lighthearted and educational game, Time Loader is exactly what you’re looking for. For about twelve and a half euros, you’ll get three to four hours of quality fun with your kids, and trust me, this game will truly entertain them while also training their logical thinking. I give it eight out of ten.

Supraland Six Inches Under is a fun puzzle game that requires you to coordinate your mind and hands. You’ll encounter various amusing comic scenes and have the chance to help some of the inhabitants. You’ll face various challenges and uncover new secrets of this miniature world. You’ll solve puzzles that are sometimes simple and other times a bit more difficult. Frustration can set in when you’re stuck and then realize you don’t yet have the necessary equipment to complete the level. However, if you enjoy puzzle games or the feeling of playing in a miniature world, we definitely recommend this game.

Papetura is a wonderfully relaxing game for a single evening. It features beautifully designed scenery and several unique characters you’ll encounter along the way. You can really take in the beautifully crafted environment. Unfortunately, it’s a shame that the environment in which your paper character moves isn’t at least a little more interactive. Simply put, you’d just like more. Papetura is very short and, for the most part, very simple in terms of gameplay. So if you’re a fan of Amanita’s games and have already played them all, Papetura is a wonderful, original contender and definitely worth exploring.

Syberia: The World Before is definitely a fantastic adventure game that will captivate you. A compelling story, beautiful graphics, a wartime atmosphere, and a lovely soundtrack all come together to create a masterpiece. The time-travel mechanics work brilliantly here, and the player never loses track of the story for a moment. Overall, I can say that Kate Walker’s new adventure is definitely worth your time. Most importantly, the developers learned from the mistakes of the third installment and returned to their roots.

Ski Lifts Go Wrong is a 2D building game (though you can also switch to 3D mode, i.e., rotate the view) in which you build ski lifts while trying not to bore yourself to death. The game offers a campaign, sandbox, and workshop modes, but that’s all there is to it. The developers tried to liven up the game with varied levels, but they didn’t quite succeed, so we end up falling into a gameplay rut. For the current price, the entertainment value is disproportionate.

At its core, Black Book is an engaging deck-building card game featuring terrifying tales from the Russian countryside a century ago. Local superstitions and folklore, combined with authentic Slavic mythology, come to life against a backdrop of simple visuals and, together with the music, create a truly dark atmosphere. For a reasonable price of €25, even with its many flaws and drawn-out gameplay, card game enthusiasts are sure to find something to enjoy.

Overall, F1 2021 is just a minor evolution that doesn’t offer much value for owners of the previous F1 2020. Although the new features—such as the story mode and three new race tracks—are interesting, they aren’t enough to justify the €60 price tag for owners of last year’s edition. I would therefore recommend waiting for a sale. However, if you last played 2019 or one of the older installments, there’s no need to think twice about buying F1 2021. This game series has a lot to offer you, and you definitely won’t regret buying it even at full price. I give it eight and a half out of ten.

Mists of Noyah is like a dungeon master’s game with no imagination. You might want to step into this fictional world as a brave knight or a powerful sorceress, but the landscapes here are bleak and lack any deeper meaning, so you have no reason to sit down at the table a second time. The developers likely weren’t able to clarify their priorities during development, so the current version is just another mindless RPG game—the kind we’ve already seen dozens of on the market.

King Arthur: Knight's Tale is undoubtedly a very interesting game that offers players a fantastic take on the legend of King Arthur. Given the various moral choices that influence your journey and your companions, it’s a game with great replay value—you simply won’t be able to resist trying to play through everything with different companions and a different playstyle. The icing on the cake is the graphics, sound design, and fantastic soundtrack. However, what drags the game down are non-functional subtitles in some sections and minor bugs. The game also takes up an incredible 125 GB of disk space.

Following in the footsteps of its predecessor, FAR: Changing Tides offers an amazingly adventurous journey set against the backdrop of an even more beautiful, ruined world. Since the last installment, the developers have addressed the shortcomings of the first game and added a wealth of new content and mechanics. However, this has made the game more complex, resulting in a loss of that meditative atmosphere. Despite all that, it’s an excellent game that will surely find its rightful place in your heart and in your game library.

Project Wingman is a very well-made flight arcade game that can proudly hold its own against AAA titles. While it’s occasionally evident that this is a one-man project with a limited budget, it’s a refreshing change of pace that will win you over with its gameplay, mission design, and graphics. The AI behaves exactly according to the selected difficulty level, and your teammates aren’t just there for show. In Conquest mode, you can also build your own mercenary air force army according to your own preferences and focus. The only real criticism is the menu controls and interface. If you can get past that, you’ll have a game that will keep you entertained for hours, whether it’s through dogfights, free flight, or the graphics.

Out of Line may not fully satisfy demanding platforming veterans, but it offers a pleasant and laid-back experience for those looking to liven up their evening. Set in a beautiful, captivating world, it presents an inexplicably minimalist story and a lack of challenges. There is certainly a lot of room for improvement, but I firmly believe that the developers will take the best from this experience and apply it to their next project.
