Squareboy vs Bullies: Arena Edition could be seen under a positive light, as it contributes to the presence of a very underrepresented genre in the Switch catalog. Unfortunately it doesn't have much more going for it, as most of its elements could certainly be improved and if anything, it only motivates going back to its inspirational material.

The game's basis did not change and it's still Picross as everyone knows it but the lack of use of the touch screen and the absence of pointers when playing on a television screen could have made it a more pleasant experience. What makes Picross S more difficult to digest is the size of the game screen, which does not change compared to its predecessors, a decision that is unjustifiable.

Thimbleweed Park proposes an experience that is not common nowadays but which used to be abundant more than two decades ago and it works very well. The game is full of well designed puzzles, good sense of humour and an overall fun gameplay. It would be even better if it played more like a classic point and click adventure but Thimbleweed Park does its job very well and nobody will walk out disappointed.

36 Fragments of Midnight doesn't play like a full game and other than good looking graphics and art style, it's very difficult to find any elements to redeem it. Due to its empty gameplay, almost non-existent lifespan and actually non-existent soundtrack, it becomes impossible to deem this to be anything else than a tech demo that should never be sold as a full game.

Infinite Minigolf has very realistic ball physics and a control system that is extremely precise - so precise that it can even put off less experienced players, as it takes some time to get used to. Its lack of motion controls is also difficult to understand but Infinite Minigolf has plenty going for it, including its potentially endless lifespan.

Cave Story+ is a magnificent metroidvania style with emphasis on platforming action and which brings forth fantastic boss fights, a perfectly designed difficulty curve and overall, a charming and engaging adventure that is set to captivate newcomers and veterans alike. Even if Cave Story+ has existed in previous formats before, it is still a very recommended option to everyone.

Vaccine may be based on a good concept but it deserved a sharper execution and better controls, not to mention a more presentable audiovisual environment. Its lack of variety and overall sense of dullness mean that what could have been a fun and engaging game ends up becoming a non-performing idea that is overridden by its negative elements.

I and Me is good and it could certainly be better if it maximized its assets. Its gameplay is fun and interesting and its audiovisual environment fits well with the game but the feeling of repetitiveness and the level of challenge (which could be higher) end up causing some harm to what is overall an enjoyable experience.

A fun and entertainingly chaotic puzzle experience is what Death Squared brings to its players, whether they choose to go solo or accompanied. Its very well designed (and plentiful) levels will keep everyone busy for a good amount of time and the more players join in the better, as Death Squared fully maximizes the experience with four players.

NBA Playgrounds is fun with friends...and that's about it, playing this on single player mode is nothing short of disappointing due to the unasked for "players on stickers" mechanic, enormous loading times between matches which also affect the multiplayer mode and the for time still absent online mode make this a game that will not appeal to those looking for an intense and action-packed arcade basketball game.

The challenge it proposes will push players to the edge, as some will not be able to handle it and will find themselves on the brink of fury but those brave enough to handle this storm will find a game where despite the many, many deaths awaiting them, the feeling of reward after reaching their goals will push them into ecstasy.

Puzzle games rely on the difficulty of their challenges and Human Resource Machine certainly excels at that. A puzzle game that carves its own territory within the puzzle game genre, this is a work that features a very steep difficulty curve, very demanding challenges, a very peculiar sense of humour and a presence of mathematical elements throughout the whole game. Thanks to its perfect control system, Human Resource Machine is a delight to interact with, the Nintendo Switch is getting the definite version of this unique game.

Beyond its completely shallow gameplay that offers no added value whatsoever, the game's audiovisual component looks more fitting in a system from twenty years ago, the HD rumble functionality is more of a nuisance than a feature and it really offers no plausible reason whatsoever to buy and play...unless it's to read its translations, so poor that they could be mistaken for comedy writing.

While Mr. Shifty brings an interesting and fun gameplay, thanks to its mechanics that emphasize fun over everything else, it suffers from technical issues that can harm the overall game experience.

Blaster Master Zero is everything a remake should be: it brings the original up to today's standards while fully respecting its contents and directions. This is a game that's easily recommended to not just 8-bit enthusiasts but to everyone who enjoys the Metroidvania style, as all the aspects of the original have been upgraded to satisfy today's audience while keeping the main assets of the original in force.

Tank Troopers may present a rather interesting concept but it's impossible to avoid the feeling that the game was rushed. Its inconvenient and strictly offline multiplayer doesn't make the experience more enjoyable and the lack of a minimally compelling plot only adds to the impression that Tank Troopers should have spent more time in the drawing board before being released, regardless of the current status of the 3DS.

Shock Troopers brings the players back to a time of simpler gameplay mechanics and it certainly has a commendable nostalgia value for those who know it and who treasure it. Some of its features feel outdated by today's standards, however, which means that more recent players will question some of the game's aspects and its gameplay will feel like it truly belongs to Shock Troopers' original time.

While its art style is pleasant and the gameplay mechanics should be praised for pushing it beyond the usual, Color Symphony 2 takes it a bit too far and will fall out with both the casual audience and the more dedicated players.

Its originality, comical plot and artwork will capture the players' attention and its structure will make it seem like a perfect game for short sessions, which will eventually grow into very long sessions as the player goes back and forth between horse racing and Solitary games, with the development of the horse's characteristics in between.
