Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Reviews
The best Star Wars game of recent years is unfortunately plagued by serious technical problems that dampen the enjoyment.
The PS4 port of Star Wars: Jedi Survivor is an impressive achievement. It succeeds in preserving most of the outstanding qualities of its PS5 version while occupying less than one-third of the storage size. Despite some technical hiccups, the ability to maintain a good frame rate and crisp imagery on 11-year-old hardware is quite an accomplishment.
Jedi Survivor not only lives up to its predecessor, but it improves on its formula in many areas, at times feeling as if this is the game Jedi Fallen Order *should* have been.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is a masterpiece that proves what a sequel should be.

Star Wars Jedi Survivor proves itself as a commendable successor to the beloved 2019 game, Fallen Order. If we regard Fallen Order as one of the finest Star Wars games created thus far, it's fair to say that its sequel, Star Wars Jedi Survivor, stands as a formidable entry in the franchise, excelling in nearly every aspect. In fact, it surpasses Fallen Order in many ways. Regrettably, a number of technical issues have hindered this game from fully showcasing its potential to the audience. Nevertheless, if you're a Star Wars enthusiast or simply crave an action-adventure game with compelling gameplay and storytelling, neglecting the opportunity to experience this title would be a mistake.

While Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is a fantastic title, I can't recommend it in its current state. Game-breaking bugs, plentiful performance problems, and immersion-crushing glitches are rampant here. You'll likely see significant issues no matter what system you play on. This is an unacceptable release from EA and Respawn that falls far below what we've come to expect from these talented developers. You're better off waiting out the game's rough launch window and picking it up on sale a year later.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is a fantastic follow up to the previous game and features some of the best narrative beats and characters from any recent Star Wars media. It takes what was already working from the last game and enhances just about every feature to create one of the best recent action adventure games. Best of all it closely captures what I imagine it would be like to wield the Force and use a Lightsaber. If you’re a fan of the Star Wars universe I can’t recommend it enough.
From gameplay mechanics to story beats, everything about the sequel feels confident and refined. This is a game fully sure of itself and what it wants to be/do, and the result is ridiculously impressive on all fronts.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor massively expands upon the first game by adding a more mature and interesting story, improving the battle system with the implementation of weapon stances, and adding multiple visually stunning planets to explore. It is unfortunately plagued with technical issues again and failure to improve the worst parts of Fallen Order left us a little disappointed.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is the sequel any fan would want from a fantastic first game. It builds on everything from that point and adds the right amount of things without feeling bloated. The central story is an emotional rollercoaster that stays centralized in a human narrative of family, helplessness, and finding your own path, with the epic backdrop of the Star Wars space opera universe.
"Star Wars Jedi: Survivor" is extremely well crafted and mostly improves on what dissatisfied players in the first installment.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is a triumphant sequel that captures the essence of the Star Wars universe while offering a thrilling and engaging adventure. Though it stumbles in a few areas, the game’s strengths far outweigh its weaknesses, making it a must-play for fans of the franchise and action-adventure enthusiasts alike. May the Force be with you on this incredible journey!
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is a game that's an absolute joy to play. Exploring these worlds, slicing through enemies, customizing how Cal looks, uncovering the game's lore: it's all done perfectly here, in a way that should appeal to anyone, regardless of their familiarity with Star Wars itself (though being a fan probably helps). There are minor flaws, to be sure, but they're so minor, they feel like nitpicking. In a year that's already featured some outstanding games, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor still manages to stand out.
Overall, I believe Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is a good game. However, it’s disappointing that the level of polish and stability isn’t quite up to par. I hope that with future patches and updates, the game will become a much more solid and enjoyable experience.
I fell in love with Cal Kestis and BD-1 almost immediately upon playing Jedi: Fallen Order, and ate up the new Star Wars content to add to the canon and ever growing universe. I loved the story of a young Jedi in hiding and discovering characters and events within that time line. As a game, the combat was challenging but satisfying and the exploration fun. Now, 4 years later, we have been given a sequel in Jedi: Survivor. With such a good original game, does the sequel live up to it?
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is an excellent sequel with not an insignificant amount of technical issues. It could have used a bit more time in the oven, but as a whole it's definitely not a disappointment.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor excels as a sequel with refined gameplay, stunning visuals, and an engaging story. With customizable difficulty and appearances, the game appeals to all fans. Despite some pacing issues and initial technical hiccups, this action-adventure is a captivating addition to the Star Wars universe.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is in every way a very fun and enjoyable game to play in and of itself, which just happens to be Star Wars, and for that, it’s made even better, especially to fans like me. The fact that it is a product within that franchise doesn’t get in its way whatsoever, and that’s something that’s rare to see nowadays.
Respawn set themselves a challenge: follow up and improve on their surprise smash hit Jedi: Fallen Order in only three years. They should have, though, taken four.
It’s a shame that Star Wars Jedi: Survivor suffered from so many bugs upon its release, because it’s an absolutely fantastic game. I am beyond grateful that my time with it was largely unaffected by those issues, so I was able to enjoy the game the way it was intended. Nearly every aspect of Survivor has been improved upon from Fallen Order, making this one of the most enjoyable entries into the Star Wars franchise to date.
