Skautfold: Usurper Reviews
Pair all of the above with spritework and sound design that feels amateurish, and Skautfold: Usurper ultimately comes off as more of a mid-effort flash game than a properly polished new eShop release. There are flashes of fun every now and then, but none of the ideas or concepts here cohere into something that’s worth your time. If you’re looking for a solid Metroidvania with Soulslike elements, Blasphemous, Hollow Knight, and Salt and Sanctuary all offer up a substantially more polished and enjoyable experience.
Skautfold: Usurper is a proposal that shines by itself before the extensive number of similar options, it does not become perfect and much less comes to revolutionize the trite genre, but if it offers us the necessary fun such as offering an opportunity and not letting it pass.

Skautfold: Usurper tries to be a memorable metroidvania, but everything is delivered in such a shallow way that at no time does the game really show what it came for. An "ok" option just in case you are an orphan of the genre and find it in a good sale.

For those who want to know titles of this kind, there are friendlier and more accessible options on the market.

Skautfold: Usurper is a reasonable metroidvania in its proposal and fulfills what is expected of a game of the genre. However, the various small issues stack up to keep the experience from standing out within a market that has much better games already available. At the moment, it is only recommended for those who are very fond of the style.
