Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is an adventure game that manages to bring flair while trying to fit into a genre that is pretty stacked. It steers clear of being an Uncharted clone and instead delivers a unique, fun experience. From leaping between planes to hilariously outwitting enemies with a whip, the game captures the essence of what makes Indiana Jones such an icon.

A must have for all Indy fans, a highly enjoyable title for all other players. Indiana Jones and the Ancient Circle asserts itself as the current best exclusive (temporal) from Microsoft and as the title to play and to give as a gift for Christmas 2024, or at least to try on the Microsoft Game Pass.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is one of the best adventure games of recent memory because it truly captures that sense of "adventure." Minor niggles concerning inventory management and story pacing don't deter from the solid gameplay, the intriguing story as a whole, and the immersive environments making you feel like you are playing an Indiana Jones movie. The solid voice acting is a cherry on top. As for how the game runs on the Steam Deck, well it's up to you whether it is "playable" or not. I did find it playable and enjoyable. The image is quite blurry, but I didn't find that it hindered playing the game; having said that, it's understandable if those visuals offend your eyes. But if you want to play Indiana Jones and the Great Circle and a Steam Deck is all you have, it is an option to play it. I would just recommend you use a desktop instead if possible.

A great achievement, and that also applies to the overall picture of Indiana Jones and The Great Circle. Developer MachineGames knows exactly what a game of the legendary adventurer should look like: lots of puzzles, sneaking, dressing up and occasionally giving a good punch in the face of a Nazi. Although there were some bugs and the AI of the opponents is toe-curlingly bad, this is easily one of the best games of this year. With a surprisingly fun story, impressive graphics and challenging puzzles, the game offers an experience that will appeal to both fans of the films and newcomers. You have never come this close to experiencing what it is like to be Indiana Jones, and you definitely do not want to miss it. Quickly grab your hat and whip, the world of Indiana Jones is calling out to be discovered.

The new order is Raiders of The Lost Ark, The Last Crusade, The Great Circle, Temple of Doom, Dial of Destiny and finally, The Kingdom of The Crystal Skull. MachineGames have carefully crafted one of the best Indiana Jones entries of all time featuring nearly four hours of cinema quality cutscenes, on par with Spielbergs masterpieces. The Great Circle transcends the gaming medium. Not only does Indiana Jones and The Great Circle find itself nestled among the greatest in the franchise, but it’s easily our game of the year. There are a few minor imperfection, but nothing that affects the experience in any meaningful way. The Great Circle is a quintessential Indiana Jones experience and when everything is firing on all cylinders, it’s hard not to get swept up in the magic and feel like a kid again.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle captures the iconic atmosphere of the franchise and feels like a classic Indiana Jones film. Locations like Vatican City and the pyramids of Egypt are full of hidden treasure and reward thorough exploration. The gameplay captures Indy’s essence with clever puzzles, stealth, and improvisation. Combat feels clunky, but suits his character as a smart survivor rather than a brawler. Visually, the game is stunning, with beautiful detail and cinematics that fully draw you into the adventure.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is a first-person adventure game that combines action, stealth, exploration and puzzle-solving mechanics, achieving a quite interesting balance that works in part thanks to great level design. With an impressive audiovisual section, Indy's new adventure captures the entire spirit of the character and gives us an experience that is as enjoyable as it is recognizable. It is true that the PC version has high requirements, and that the enemy AI can be improved, but still "The Great Circle" is an adventure that deserves to be lived, fully living up to its legacy.

Great Circle is a fun action adventure title, with a decent story, some nice exploration and, more importantly, Indiana Jones the focal point and very much in the driver’s seat. However, this is certainly not without its problems, and between janky combat, truly woeful AI and some hit or miss level design, Great Circle is a fun but flawed adventure that feels very reminiscent of those old movie videogame tie-ins we used to get back in the old days.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is a masterclass in faithfully adapting and elevating a beloved franchise. The title impresses with its first-person exploration and immersion, set pieces, level design, storytelling, and presentation. However, enemy AI inconsistencies, the lack of manual saves, and occasional performance mishaps leave just a few dents into this otherwise engrossing experience. While X may not usually mark the spot, MachineGames and Bethesda have struck gold here in what is one of the very best titles of 2024. I daresay the Great Circle may be an action adventure classic in the making.

Indiana Jones and the Ancient Circle is exactly what fans of the franchise have been waiting for for years: an engaging, mystery-filled, action-packed adventure that honors the unforgettable movie saga. I didn't expect this, I admit, yet MachineGames has been able to create a title that, despite a few flaws - such as the aforementioned deficiency in artificial intelligence and a limited number of hand-to-hand combat animations - manages to capture the essence of the Spielbergian saga, offering an experience that alternates between moments of pure adrenaline rush and reflective exploration sessions. The game especially shines for its level design, its original take on the open world, its faithfulness to the source material, and the way it manages to make you really feel in the shoes of the legendary archaeologist. In short, whether you are a longtime fan of the IP or simply looking for a good adventure, Indiana Jones and the Ancient Circle is a game worth playing.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is one of the best adventure games of the year. It captures the atmosphere of the movies, using Indy tricks is a blast. Whilst the game isn’t perfect, it does have a few quirks like borderline bulletproof enemies, Troy Baker, and some unnecessary brief sequences of gameplay, it doesn’t deter the whole experience. I’m not going to lie, but I believe featuring third person perspective would’ve added to the fun. Either way, don’t miss it, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is great banger to end the year on.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle pleasantly surprised me. The choice of a first-person camera, which initially made me skeptical, turned out to be a brilliant decision, delivering a unique and memorable experience. The story is captivating, the graphics are stunning, and the gameplay is enjoyable. Despite some technical issues and the simplicity of the stealth mechanics, the experience is solid and well worth playing. A game worthy of the big screen, it stands out as one of the highlights of 2024 and marks a strong step in the right direction for Xbox.

From the opening notes of the Indy theme, I was transported to the realm of one of my favourite fictional characters of all time and that is the Great Circle’s greatest achievement in my eyes. If you long for the days of the classic Indy movies (and want to forget the last two), this is the sequel for you, it just happens to be a video game.
