Days Gone Remastered Reviews
Days Gone Remastered is an easy recommendation for newcomers and fans who missed the original, thanks to its improved visuals, performance, and extra modes. For returning players, the $10 upgrade price is reasonable for the enhancements and new content. However, those who bounced off the original’s slow pacing or lackluster story may find the remaster’s improvements insufficient to change their opinion. So does this mean we’re getting Days Gone 2?
All things considered, Days Gone Remastered is faithful to the original: despite bringing many qualities, some specific problems limit to “great” what could have been an “incredible” experience. The new features of the remaster are all positive, with highlights including the audiovisual improvements and the addition of the Horde Assault mode, even if the latter could have been better. It is a recommended title for those who never enjoyed the original game or who liked what they saw before and are ready to relive the adventure in a more modern format.

Days Gone's initial release faced challenges that kept it from joining the ranks of PlayStation’s most celebrated exclusives. While Bend Studio has no confirmed plans for a sequel, their commitment to refining and improving the game has resulted in a more polished and definitive experience, making it a must-play this time. With enhanced gameplay mechanics and new modes, Days Gone Remastered is the most complete version of the game, making it a worthwhile experience for newcomers and longtime fans. Perhaps its revival could spark interest in a sequel, proving that some stories deserve a second chance.
Days Gone Remastered adds little in terms of graphics or improvements on old faults. Loading times are still there and old bugs are (still) not fixed, while introducing new ones with DualSense support. Additions like permadeath and horde mode are welcome but not enough to warrant the upgrade.

Days Gone Remastered might not be the most essential or ambitious remaster we've ever seen, but decent new game modes and quality of life features might entice die-hard fans to give it a second look.
If you’ve never played Days Gone, this is the best version available. And if, like me, you already gave it a shot back in 2019, the remaster offers just enough to make a return visit worthwhile.
Days Gone is definitely one of the best titles of last generation, and this remaster further enhances its qualities, thanks to the powerful PS5 hardware. The new features introduced are interesting and offer a new way to experience both the game mechanics and the story itself. However, besides all these improvements there is not much else to fully justify the list price. The technical compartment is excellent, especially on PS5 Pro, but the improvements made tend to go unnoticed during the fast-paced scenes of the main story. In addition, many of the flaws of the original version are still present and, even 6 years later, still make the plot development bitter. The wave mode is an excellent addition: it allows you to improve your combat skills, revisiting some of the most iconic areas of the game world and using, in addition to Deacon ST. John, new characters. In conclusion, does Days Gone Remastered deserve the upgrade from the PS4 version? The answer is: it depends. If you have already played the original version on PS4 and want to relive the story with a 10 ,upgrade then yes, absolutely. But if you're on the fence about buying the remaster at full price, my advice is to stick with the original version, which by the way has been available on PS Plus since PS5's arrival on the market.

Days Gone Remastered doesn’t reinvent the wheel, but it absolutely gives this once-overlooked open-world adventure the upgrade it’s always deserved. With visual enhancements, smoother performance, and smart additions such as the Horde Assault mode, it offers the definitive way to experience Deacon St. John’s gripping adventure across Oregon. A few lingering flaws remain – from uneven audio to inconsistent AI – but none of them dull what is ultimately a rewarding and immersive ride through a beautifully broken world. And that hidden ending? Ooft, it ALWAYS made me want that sequel… maybe one day…
Like Sony's other remasters, those who own the original on PS4 can upgrade to the remaster. Considering all the new modes, it's not a bad deal, especially if you love Days Gone. Thanks to the PS5's solid-state drive, loading times are reduced, which means less time spent fast traveling, respawning, or entering the game
Coming back to Days Gone in 2025 for the third time ever: yes, Deacon is still a weirdo.
Days Gone Remastered not only fixes the mistakes of the past, but adds enough improvements to keep us engaged. The story remains strong, the setting remains captivating, and now, finally, the performance and technical enhancements are up to par. It won't be perfect, but it's a well-deserved second chance for a title that is now Bend Studio's best to date.

Days Gone Remastered is recommended both for those who did not experience the story of Deacon St. John in the original game, as well as for fans looking for an enhanced experience. Its graphical enhancements, new modes and accessibility options make getting back on the road worthwhile.

Days Gone has never looked better. For the first time, I can appreciate Bend Studio's vision of the apocalypse as it should be seen. From animations to intricate details, this is a gorgeous nightmare from beginning to end. But it's still the same crummy gameplay experience, and that's all that matters.
With few differences from its original version, what really stands out in Days Gone Remastered is the Horde Attack mode, though it’s definitely not for everyone, as it can become a bit tiring and even monotonous. Overall, it’s just a minor upgrade from the PS4 version.

Days Gone Remastered is a re-release that performs all in all well (while maintaining the flaws of the original work, such as AI and plot writing). Despite not representing a major technical and graphical leap like Horizon Zero Dawn, Climax and Bend Studio have managed to bring back an IP we never thought we'd see again. The additions are interesting and fitting, and allow the game to be enjoyed again by those who plucked it back in the day (at a more than honest price).

Days Gone Remastered is definitely the best way to experience Bend Studio's zombie adventure, and while there are a few issues, it's still a great single-player story with strong combat.
Days Gone is like that beaten-up motorbike you find in a shed: rusty, a bit ugly, but once you fix it up? It absolutely flies, especially about 15 hours in.
Days Gone Remastered is finally a remaster of a game that many players probably missed. Technical improvements, clever DualSense support and new modes breathe new life into this underrated classic, even though some rough edges remain visible here and there. Fortunately, these drawbacks are more than compensated for by the intense atmosphere, memorable moments and the cool mix of survival, exploration and bike maintenance. Days Gone Remastered is still not perfect, but it does give me more hope for a sequel. After all, as a player you are still left with a number of unanswered questions.

Days Gone Remastered isn’t exactly the game we were waiting for (who said Bloodborne?), and the adjustments it introduces don’t drastically change the overall judgment—the rating mainly reflects the quality of the update. After post-launch fixes, Deacon’s journey had already proven to be a solid and entertaining open-world zombie experience, and this remaster doesn’t change that. If you’ve already explored Oregon and still have the original installation, consider whether it’s worth spending €10 to access the Horde Assault mode—the most substantial new addition. If you’ve yet to experience the thrill of being chased by a massive zombie horde, this remaster might be worth considering—though the ending, without a sequel, might leave you frustrated, as it did for me.
