NBA 2K15 Reviews
In all honesty, you'll have to look very hard for something to hate about NBA 2K15. The developers over at Visual Concepts know how to keep raising the bar and like Kevin Durant on the cover, use each offseason to come back better than the last year.
NBA 2K15's overhauled movement system and improved shooting mechanics make it the best-playing basketball game in existence.
NBA 2K15's scope and ambition as a sports sim is admirable; and though its execution doesn't always match its vision, it's still an altogether polished and impressive package. Even if you don't care much about basketball, it's worth checking out for its highly entertaining MyPlayer mode alone. Once again, Visual Concepts has nailed what makes the NBA so appealing to a wide swath of people.
Overall, NBA 2K15 has come on leaps and bounds from the previous year's game, really fleshing out all the game modes. The MyCareer mode is the best "be a pro" style mode of any sports title, with the voices of NBA stars added for authenticity. The gameplay is much smoother too, and the game just looks great. The loading times do still need work, and hopefully 2K will address that with patches and in next year's NBA game. The server issues also need to be resolved for a better online experience but a new bar has been set for all sports games here.
The best Basketball sim to date, despite a lack of significant changes.
Despite the disappointing online issues and insane load times, NBA 2K15 is still a very impressive video game. It does so many things correctly and builds upon pre-existing features in all the right ways. Visual Concepts has managed to make the standard MyPlayer and Association modes into something brand new, which is a task no other sports game has achieved. Because of that, the impressive visuals, and the same enjoyable gameplay, it is easy to imagine NBA 2K15 taking the Best Sports Game award at the end of the year.
Overall NBA 2K15 is an excellent game packed with a variety of features that will easily keep you busy up until the inevitable 2K16 release next year. Where the game shines the most is undoubtedly its presentation and gameplay physics. The career mode alone has enough drama to keep you entertained and coming back for more, but most importantly the entire game is fun to play and never ceases to impress you even after long periods of play. Fans of the NBA should be rather satisfied with the latest offering from 2K, and even if you are not a fan of Basketball, I'd still recommend checking the game out.
A stunning and packed basketball sim, with a PC version finally on a par with consoles.
NBA 2K15 has an awe-inspiring amount of customization that makes the game accessible for new players, and finely tuned for veterans. Each mode has addressed and improved upon criticisms from previous years and despite a slight misstep on defense, offense has never felt better.
[I]if you want to wreck the opposition online, or you just want to rise up and become a pro on your favorite team, pick up NBA 2K15 and get started. Legends don't just write themselves.
NBA 2K15 brings a milestone performance with enhanced presentation across the board. Only server lag and long loading screens keep 2K15 from a spot on the sports-game dream team.
NBA 2K15 is an astounding title full of modes that should see hoop heads playing compulsively until the next one in a year's time.
For someone who never had a chance to live the basketball life and never will, NBA 2K15 is a very welcome addition to my shelf.
As far as basketball games go, however, NBA 2K15 easily remains the best option out there.
I finally got to live out my dream of being very tall.
Between MyLeague, MyGM, MyCareer and multiplayer modes like MyPark and the more tradition types — all of which have functioned admirably online, I should note, though MyPark has been less busy than I would prefer, in my experience — NBA 2K15 is as fleshed out as a sports game gets these days.
NBA 2K15 continues the franchise's run as the best sports game on the market, and there's a lot to love in its MyCareer mode even for people who aren't basketball fans.
NBA 2K15 retains the title of best basketball video game, but it's a far less impressive title this year.
Unfortunately, if you want to play those games online you'll inevitably hit a brick wall. If your plan is to play mostly offline you'll find a lot to love here. Hopefully 2K will quickly iron out their issues and give this game the infrastructure its gameplay deserves.
NBA 2K15 builds on the foundations laid down by its predecessors, providing an all-star basketball experience marred only by online issues.
