Despite its difficulty, Sektori is pretty much a perfect arcade-style twin-stick shooter and has fully earned its score. Even after hours of gameplay, I still don’t feel particularly skilled, but that is by no means the game’s fault – quite the opposite. I’m aware that I’m only at the beginning of my journey and nowhere near satisfied yet, and I intend to continue my “studies” with the game so that I can climb as high as possible on the global rankings. Sektori is a modern work of art that justifies every one of its gameplay design choices with style and craftsmanship. Instead of mocking the player, it rewards improvement fairly as skill grows.

Sektori is an indie sensation and a game I simply can’t get enough of. The first time I played this, I popped it on at 1 am in the morning with the intention of having a quick go before covering it properly in the days following. It was almost six in the morning by the time I dragged myself away. Beware, this game is insanely addictive. It has that “just one more run” vibe, and each time, I am convincing myself I can perform better. I am now drawn to trying to climb the online leaderboards, so there is plenty of life in this one for me yet, after more than 24 hours of gameplay. If you’re after a twin stick shooter that has lots of similarities to titles like Geometry Wars 1|2, then I urge you to buy this; it’s well worth it.

Sektori is pure arcade goodness, fast, vibrant, challenging, and incredibly easy to sink hours into without realising. Yes, it can be a bit unforgiving at times, and I think the early difficulty spike could be slightly softer, but those small critiques don’t take away from how fun it is. This is the kind of game you boot up for a quick run and accidentally play for an entire evening. It’s simple to learn, satisfying to master, and packed with that “one more try” energy that great arcade games thrive on. I really enjoyed my time with it, and if you’re looking for a quick-fire, neon-soaked shooter that respects your time and rewards your skill, Sektori is absolutely worth picking up.

In a year full of genuinely incredible games, I’m more than pleased to have found another one that you should immediately look to pick up. I beg you, don’t let Sektori pass you by. This is an utterly mesmerising and innovative twin-stick arcade shooter, packed full of content and modes and with a level of challenge that ticks all the right boxes. Now to take on those harder modes – I’ll see you on the leaderboards!

Sektori stands out with sharp gameplay, a vibrant atmosphere, and an action pace that rarely gives a second to rest. Its strengths are clear: precise controls, creative arenas, memorable bosses, and a rhythm that rewards quick reflexes and decision-making. There are some drawbacks — such as the relatively mild impact of roguelike elements or occasional visual confusion — but they don't detract from the overall experience. Overall, it's an intense, stylish, and carefully crafted experience for those who enjoy high-difficulty games and nonstop action. Players seeking technical mastery and adrenaline-pumping matches will find a great game here; those after something lighter may face a steep but rewarding learning curve.
