This is not a game for casual players, neither is it for those with a love of the arcade shooter genre. This is a game for retro purists or for those who wear their triumphs over insane difficulty levels like virtual army epaulettes across their gamer tags. Futuridium is a game for those who can invest in the grind of simply 'getting the job done'. Taken on those terms, Futuridium becomes a challenge to be completed, retro looking enough to be in vogue, yet with mechanics that inhibit a broader mainstream appeal. Once you've sated your curiosity on its aesthetic retro nostalgia, it quickly feels like you're playing Galaga at light speed ….on your PS4. Whether or not you invested in a PS4 to be able to play Galaga is something owners of Futuridium will have to come to terms with.

Futuridium EP Deluxe is a fun yet quite challenging experience that will certainly test the skills and reflexes of all PS4 and PS Vita owners. The levels are quite varied and imaginative, but the credit system is very punishing, although certainly attractive for those looking for a tough time. In quite a few areas you'll feel just like Luke Skywalker as he's piloting through the Death Star, so Star Wars fans should certainly try it out.

They will push you to the limit in a race to save your spaceship. Making mistakes isn't an option and acting fast is your main task. Futuridium is fun through and through, and it deserves your download sooner rather than later.

Futuridium EP Deluxe may take a little longer to click than the likes of Resogun, but once it does it's an absolute joy to play.

Futuridium EP Deluxe is a bland-at-best space-shooter. Without any exciting gameplay hooks, players are left with a product that simply lacks the "fun factor" its colorful visuals would imply it has.

In the end, Futuridium EP Deluxe is a wildly difficult and repetitive game. It manages to stay fairly interesting by allowing players to change songs and unlock new gameplay modes and skins, but in the end players end up repeating the same levels over and over again with no variation in them. The game's $10 price tag makes it buy-able, but you should still consider whether or not they want to spend $10 on Futuridium EP Deluxe or simply rent a movie for the PS Store. You might actually get a lot more out of the movie.

There really isn't much of anything for me to complain about when it comes to Futuridium. It's a simple, but fun arcade style shooter that draws you in with its addictive gameplay and awesome presentation. With a price-tag of only $10, MixedBag Srl's colorful shooter is easily one of the most original and enjoyable games out on the Wii U eShop right now.

Futuridium EP Deluxe brings back the space-themed shoot'em up, this time with a psychedelic atmosphere that will pit the player through fifty levels which will pose a significant amount of challenge - sometimes too much challenge for its own good, as the controls aren't always responsive as they should and level design could use some serious improvements.

Futuridium EP Deluxe provides a fresh experience on the eShop, with vibrant visuals, a pumping soundtrack and a neat twist on its genre. It's also reserved for skilful players, with demanding stage designs being at turns exciting and frustrating. For those that are up to the challenge, though, this is a stylish and enjoyable effort that's well worth a look on Wii U.

The cross-buy option makes Futuridium EP Deluxe an easy choice for Wii U and New 3DS owners. If you only have the portable, however, then it's well worth a purchase - it's one of only a small number of downloads on the updated hardware that truly shows what it can do in unison with Unity. It's fun, flashy and just occasionally frustrating, and also a welcome part of the New 3DS library.

Futuridium EP Deluxe is a fun, slick and addictive score-attack shooter that shows excellent production values and is simple enough to get the players' attention immediately. While the difficulty curve can get too steep by the end of the game and sometimes, the depth perception would need slight adjustments, this is a game that is recommended to all those who enjoy fast-paced, fun experiences and who derive a huge sense of satisfaction from improving their high scores.

Futuridium EP Deluxe is a sight to behold. It's a triumph of both art and style, with fast-paced gameplay and diverse level designs. The whole thing comes together thanks to the mesmerizing visuals and drum 'n bass soundtrack. It may have a simple premise, but this PlayStation 4 title is one of the most exciting space shooters of the year.

With tight gameplay, sharp shooting, and a remarkable sense of style, Futuridium EP Deluxe is a delightful 3D shooter. While there are certainly moments of frustration to be had here – predominantly stemming from misjudged aiming – the gorgeous graphics and stellar soundtrack more than make up for any misgivings. Oh, and if you do decide to play it, be sure to use headphones.

Futuridium EP Deluxe is a cracking little arcade game, best for playing a set of levels when you have a moment rather than a long gaming session, and while later levels can be a bit frustrating, playing it in small bites makes it much more enjoyable.
