Midnight Moments Reviews
All in all, Midnight Moments delivers on the visual front, the lighting and shadow effects and the rain-sound atmosphere. Still, the whole experience is lacking in the absence of (or imprecise implementation of) object rotation, lack of tutorials and restricted range of available assets.
Midnight Moments may have won me over in a genre I normally don’t gravitate towards. I say may because I’m still playing it and working on more scenes filled with glowing streetlights, citizens chattering, and buildings where I can imagine almost anything happening inside.
Midnight Moments isn't about achievement so much as it is about celebrating imagination. It creates an atmosphere of peace, where nothing is forced, where the price of mistakes is zero, and where ideas are allowed to breathe. It's a relaxing and visually pleasing experience for those who enjoy taking their time to craft expressive worlds, and thankfully it has only relatively modest shortcomings.
Midnight Moments is a cozy diorama builder that perfectly captures the atmosphere of a cyberpunk world with its gorgeous visuals, relaxing gameplay, and satisfying creative freedom. Its simple, challenge-free approach makes it easy for players of any skill level to jump in and create detailed miniature cityscapes while enjoying the soothing ambience of rain-soaked neon streets. Although the limited selection of placeable items and occasionally awkward camera controls leave room for improvement, neither issue overshadows the game's core appeal. If you are looking for a relaxing creative experience, Midnight Moments is an easy recommendation for anyone who wants to unwind by building the cyberpunk hideout of their dreams.
Midnight Moments provides you with simple, straightforward tools and assets to create impressive little cyberpunk dioramas. While the tools have some slight issues and the assets could be better, the title particularly shines in using simple shapes and geometric language to create impressive scenes with unimpressive, easy-to-use shapes.
While Midnight Moments may not be for everyone, that’s exactly what makes it stand out from others. It isn’t trying to be filled with objectives or fast paced. So many times games try to add so many elements that key gameplay gets drowned out. Developers Happy Volcano on the other hand chose to stick with one element and do it well. They embrace slowing down, and focusing on a more a tranquil experience. Simply enjoying the lulling sounds of the rain and vibrant neons, being truly immersed in a cyberpunk oasis.
Midnight Moments is a concept defined by sharp contrasts between the beauty of its vision and the efficiency of its tools.
