Critic Reviews for Gunman Clive 2

The gameplay will be familiar to fans of NES platformers, but there are plenty of surprises thanks to its shifting themes and levels

Gunman Clive 2 successfully avoids the pitfalls that can befall sequels; it offers fresh ideas along with familiar excellence, and provides a notable improvement over its predecessor. Its stylish action platforming - along with dabbles in other approaches - combines with distinguished audio-visual presentation to deliver another gem for the 3DS eShop. We recommend it as a must buy for fans of action platformers, especially those that enjoy retro nods and winks with their modern day experiences - this one's a straight shooter.

Gunman Clive 2 has a few problems that newer gamers may have issues with, but this retro fan is more than satisfied. The $2.99 pricepoint is the cherry on top of this delicious platforming dessert.

Gunman Clive 2 is a welcome platformer, designed on a similar track as other 2D action platformers. Its art style sets it apart, though, and the marvelous details and graphical environment are a delight to look at. On the downside, its lifespan feels shorter and some instances, such as the flying stages, feel out of place.

At three dollars and with tons of replayable content, Gunman Clive 2 is a great contender for a modern classic. It displays the best things about the 3DS and creates an addictively entertaining time that's fun for all.

Arcade fun, short and sweet and cheap like a short sweet cheap thing.

A throwback to the early West and early video games, with all of the nonsensical adventure it needs to be pleasing.

Gunman Clive 2 doesn't last long, as the initial playthrough takes less than two hours, but it's such a consistent, entertaining ride that length isn't a major issue. It feels like a full experience and the end only left me wanting more. Gunman Clive 2 is a fantastic 2D platformer that improves upon the original in just about every single way.
