UFC is not as refined as an experience it could be and compared to other sports franchises it lacks in the depth department; however, there is no question EA Sports UFC game is fun to play and overall is a satisfying fighter.

EA Sports UFC is absolutely amazing to see in motion. It is a lot of fun to play, too, assuming you have some friends along for the ride. Now, if the new development team can flesh out the experience with the additional modes and content fans loved in the previous release under THQ, EA could have another blockbuster sports franchise on their hands.

The worries I had regarding passing the reins over to another developer and publisher are laid to rest here. It is far from a perfect game but the fighting, particularly striking, is the best it has ever been. EA Canada has done a good job of showing that the UFC series is in good hands by delivering an excellent game.

As Bruce Lee, one of the DLC characters for the game, would say: "Mistakes are always forgivable, if one has the courage to admit them." Nothing could be truer for the future of EA Sports UFC.

In conclusion, EA Canada should be commended on creating a sturdy fighting title that replicates the world of the MMA well. With the inclusion of real world fighters, amazingly detailed graphics and a decent gaming engine, MMA is fun fighter that definitely takes realism to a new level. More importantly, the game feels like a nextgen title on the PlayStation 4 and thankfully the controls are quite responsive and not as clunky as some other titles.

This is a very solid first time in the Octagon for EA. The foundation they've put in place for the gameplay is something they can definitely work with going forward. In comparison to the last time a game was released with the UFC brand attached, this does lag behind somewhat. Undisputed 3 played a little crisper, a little cleaner, while exhibiting more confidence to the player that he/she can completely wrap their head around all parts of every control aspect with efficiency. A great roster, awesome tutorials, and thorough Career teams up with local support for two as well as a handful of good online options gets things going back in the right direction. And the graphical quality of the fighters is really a sight to behold and is something the development team can display with pride. UFC has some great ideas brewing, and a wonderful base for growth. The next installment would benefit from some consolidation in a few areas while making other "finer points" a bit more accessible.

All in all EA Sports UFC is a great fighting game that embodies the strategy and fighting prowess needed to be an ultimate fighter. The game does a great job making each punch, kick, takedown and submission feel as real as it gets without having to step into a real Octagon. This is a must have for any MMA or UFC fan and a must try for anyone who really wants to learn the sport and understand what it is all about.

The best representation of the action that happens inside the Octagon yet. While it's not simple, the control scheme is still easy enough to learn that it takes the experience to an entirely new level as you break your opponents down standing up, in the clinch, or on the mat. With outstanding next-gen visuals, EA Sports UFC is good enough to carry around a championship belt.
