As a zombie map it works, but like I suggested it never really resonated with me. Maybe it will for you.

It's not as impressive as Der Eisendrache or the aforementioned Shadows of Evil though. This is mostly due to fatigue from the same cast that has been around since World at War, as there's only so many times you can hear Steve Blum call a zombie a "freakbag" before your eyes start to roll in the back of your head. I really liked seeing Heather Graham kick Lovecraftian ass in the base Black Ops III map.

Eclipse is a good map DLC pack, it features 4 PvP well designed maps and a new zombi map. The price is pretty high though, so this expansion may not interest every fan of the game.

Eclipse is another meaty map pack with four varied new multiplayer zones, and another well detailed Zombies map to keep fans occupied.

We're not really feeling Zombies without the celebrity cast of episodes past, but the new maps are fine additions to Black Ops III's solid multiplayer

Eclipse is way better than the previous DLC Awakening: an expansion pack with four original maps and new monstrosities for the acclaimed Zombie mode. The price is still high, but hardcore fans of Call of Duty will be delighted by the design of the new playgrounds.

Any Call of Duty: Black Ops III fans looking for a fresh excuse to swear loudly and frequently at their television set should definitely consider picking up a copy of the Eclipse DLC. Four great new maps to feel like an inferior gamer on, while repeatedly getting mown down at the hands of hyperactive kids with cat-like reflexes, not to mention the option of watching co-operative squad mates competently cut a swathe through a sea of the undead while regretting that decision to try and stab the oversized glowing zombie in a rash moment of madness... What's not to like?

Unlike its real-life counterpart, Eclipse isn't anything to get excited about. While the Verge and Knockout multiplayer maps have a lot of personality and are excellent fun, Rift and Spire are pretty dull. As for the zombie map, Zetsubou no Shima will prove rewarding for any dedicated Easter egg hunters and secret scavengers, but it's lost the heart of what CoD Zombies is all about, and it'll put many a player off. It's not a bad DLC – you just won't love it to (or)bits.

All together, they make for a map pack that’s really quite strong and distinctive visually, but also has some good variety in what they offer. Certainly, it feels more interesting and varied than Awakening did a few months ago.

If you’ve been holding out on the Season Pass waiting for Treyarch to prove themselves, I think we can be pretty certain that they’ll deliver.
