This is an excellent game and a game like this deserves to have a spot in your collection. Whether you're a newbie to challenging games like this or you're a veteran who knows the mechanics too well. This is a game that's worth your money and time. I would happily go back into it to kill another yokai.

Nioh does a lot right, and whilst it's obvious it takes a lot of inspiration from the Souls series, it really does feel like a game of its own. That being said, Nioh filled a gap in my heart of tough but rewarding gameplay whilst I wait for the latest Dark Souls DLC to come out, and I'm also confident that Nioh is a game I will keep coming back to for a long time. If you have a Playstation 4, I will happily go on record with saying that Nioh is an essential game for your library, the stunning visuals, gripping story, and solid gameplay makes the game stand out from a lot of the competition. Whilst I do say it deserves to be merited on its own achievements, for me, it is the game that came closest to encapsulating the feel of the Souls series and Bloodborne, and feels so much more polished than games like Lords of the Fallen. As it stands, Nioh could well be my game of the year.

Nioh is a fantastic Dark Souls-styled game that gives players a more accessible way to approach the genre while handily establishing itself as a potent newcomer to watch in the future. Japanese myth, culture, and history are also fun, interesting, wonderfully executed boons to the budding franchise.

Nioh is an amazing game. Yes it has some issues but most of them can be solved in time with some balancing patches. Was it worth the wait? Yes. Was it worth going through all of the Demos to give feedback for the Final Form? Very. William's adventure through Japan is an amazing one and I'm glad that I got to share it with friends as well as going at it alone.

In the end, Nioh is a magnificent experience that Dark Souls player will love. Is it better than our Game of the Year for 2016? No, but it is a good substitute that does a great job in bringing a new world to life in the grittiest way possible.

Nioh is an excellent game but the story is badly written. Deserves to be played by Dark Souls and Bloodborne fans.

I adored Bloodborne, and I really enjoyed all of the Souls games, but Nioh manages to scratch the itch that I didn’t even realize I had and truly raises the bar on this sub-genre.

Nioh might not have many ideas of its own, but it wraps established ones into a grandiose package.

Nioh is a clear depiction of Team Ninja being near their absolute best. It’s been a long time since I’ve felt so good about a Team Ninja release, and I’m excited to see what they do next after playing through and experiencing Nioh. While it isn’t fair to say that this is better or worse than the Dark Souls or Bloodborne games, I can confidently say that fans of those games will absolutely find something to enjoy within Nioh. Its brutal difficulty yet fast-paced gameplay strike a nice balance that feels very rewarding. If you like what you’ve heard so far about it and have seen in the many videos released about it, give Nioh a chance, especially if you are a fan of FromSoftware’s work. You won’t regret it.

We simply can't say that Nioh is just a copy of the popular Dark Souls series. Nioh has carved its own spot in this hardcore genre nearly flawlessly, which makes this game one of the greatest titles of the year.

The game does a lot of things really well but it goes completely downhill in some other aspects. What I see is a game with tremendous potential being plagued by choices made under poor judgement.

Nioh is a great addition to the PS4 exclusive lineup and hopefully we'll get to see more of it in the future.
