88 Heroes is a very complete game: original, entertaning and offers great challenges in some parts of it. Sometimes it has issues that affect the experience, but this does not mean that you cannot enjoy this game.

88 Heroes is almost an experiment. An irreverent & crazy experience full of speed, characters and a very sharp sense of humor. Saddly, it's a very short title.

88 Heroes is a fun, chaotic platformer where 88 is king. You have 88 minutes to complete 88 rooms, you have 88 seconds to complete each room and have an army of 88 characters to play with. With a lot of unique and funny heroes on offer, 88 Heroes is a nice bit of platforming goodness.

Despite its unique concept and quirky humor, it feels like a game best used to pass the time.

Rock-solid design with a somewhat annoying user interface that wobbles between novel and intrusive, 88 Heroes is a platformer with heart and personality that’ll have you wondering who you’re gonna call when Doctor H8 rocks up to threaten the world. Spoiler: Anyone another than this lovable collection of misfit vigilantes.

88 Heroes is a surprise: visually stunning and with a hard difficulty level. It has various quotes from 80s movies, and a great pixel art work behind.

88 Heroes is a game that puts referential humor over bland platforming and little else.

88 Heroes may not win any awards, but if this isn't an instant addiction I don't know what is. It's great for a quick gaming fix with a classic aesthetic and a silly overtone.

88 Heroes it's a good game that delivers a lot of fun without much asking for much dedication or tries to do too much, even though it's main novelty loses it's appeal early on. There isn't much more to expect from it other than a solid and competent platformer, making it's experience worth.

88 Heroes has a great idea behind it, and it has huge amounts of charm thanks to its beautiful pixel art graphics and retro soundtrack. Unfortunately though, the gameplay can soon begin to wear itself thin when you find yourself making your way through the same level for the nth time.

I love what 88 Heroes has to offer. The platforming and action are true to the genre and might seem a bit “simplistic” to some, but the overall premise of the game greatly elevates the whole package and makes it stand on its own. It’s a fun game with fun gameplay and fun writing, and I highly recommend you play it on PS4 today!

88 Heroes is a highly addictive and very funny game. The visuals are great, and other than the few complaints I’ve mentioned, it’s a very solid game. The 88 heroes are a diverse cast, and each has very different personalities and traits. The game is absolutely worth the price of admission since you’ll have a ton of fun with this one. Be sure to pick this one up on PS4, and do let me know who your favorite heroes are!

There's no denying that 88 Heroes is an innovative and ultimately enjoyable take on 2D platforming.

Ultimately 88 Heroes is a title that lives and dies by its humor, and that statement has meaning on several levels. It isn’t only that many of the heroes aren’t very useful, a compounding problem is that since almost all of them are unique in some way as a player you often have very little basis for how this character “works”. There’s no real opportunity to “git gud” with them or understand their nuances, you’re just going to run at your problems head-on and hope that your luck and reflexes will help you win the day. Granted, as you play through the game there’s no doubt you’d begin to work some of these things out but since the gameplay is relatively shallow once the surprises and jokes wear thin I’m not so positive the action itself holds up on its own to keep you compelled. I enjoyed my time with the game to a degree and some of the referential humor is a lot of fun but once you contemplate your third or fourth run and you’re looking to really play and beat the game as your priority nothing is going to stop some of the problems from seeping in.

88 Heroes hits where a lot of games miss. It introduces and original idea with a unquie spin and provides hours and hours of chaotic fun. For my money, it’s hard to beat 88 Heroes at only $14.99. I would buy the game, even at full price.

88 Heroes is a fun platformer that has a special flavor of wacky. The randomness and surprises that come with each hero present new challenges, and the atmosphere the game establishes is always light and jocular.
