Critic Reviews for Formula Fusion

Formula Fusion is the classic game that, though not showing any sign of excellence, is able to do discreetly what it promises.

As you progress to faster ships, the weaponry becomes less of a problem, since the design of the tracks doesn't make for an enjoyable time anyway and you'll be spending all your energy just trying to avoid walls.

Every aspect of Formula Fusion is cheap and forgettable. This racing game sci-fi, made by R8 Games, isn't able to reach the quality of Wipeout or Fast RMX.

A flawed far future racing game that can't keep up with recent entries.

In the absence of a better alternative, and I'd say Formula Fusion and Redout are neck and neck, FF may scratch that anti-grav racing itch. Just don't expect it to be the game to keep you occupied for weeks on end.

Outside of the campaign and options for a single race, there just isn't much here. The eight tracks get old quick, and the online portion is dead - each time this was attempted, there were never any lobbies running. Free updates that include new tracks may extend the life value, and R8 Games has shown commitment to supporting the game since the weeks following its release, but there needs to be more to entice people to stick with it. As it stands, Formula Fusion is an anti-grav racer that looks and somewhat feels like Wipeout, but doesn't have the content and appeal of it.

Overall, Formula Fusion isn't a bad game. The actual racing may not be the fastest, but some moments could get out of control if players aren't paying attention. The combat system is interesting enough, and the ship upgrades are intriguing. The roster of vehicles and tracks feels paltry, and the modes feel incomplete, which is especially noticeable since no one is playing online. Formula Fusion is still worth a look, but it wouldn't necessarily be the first choice for fans of futuristic racing.
