Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite is a great fighting game with an ugly appearance. The main adjustments to the classic formula provide intense combats and many choices for creative players.

For the moment, I'm confident in saying that Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite plays well, which is good, because everything that surrounds that base game is a hot mess. It deserves a lot of the initial terrible buzz it received because unless you have your hands on it, Infinite just looks like refried hell. The Vs. series has never exactly been known for its high production values, but for a major fighting game release in 2017, this borders on embarrassing. It's a fun game that's often difficult to look at, and more so than any balance patches or DLC, it could use a fresh coat of paint.

Veterans will find a lot to sink their teeth into in this phenomenal iteration of Marvel vs. Capcom's unique gameplay, but the lacking presentation, weak story, and lacking roster might make it unappealing for newcomers.

Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite lacks on the story front with a short campaign full of fan service moments, but it does provide a deep and satisfying gameplay. The lack of 3 vs. 3 battles is somewhat forgiven in the light of the more focused battles and the Infinity Gems add an interesting layer of strategy to the overall combat system.

I have to admit, my first impressions of Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite weren't good.

If you were skeptical about Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite like I was, don't be. It's a blast to play and it's a must-own for fighting game fans.

A fast and exciting game with some successful changes and a decent amount of content, let down only by some lackluster presentation and a lack of a reason for those who prefer to play it alone to come back to it.

Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite will probably please the competitive players with its very good netcode and new mechanics that bring new life to the classic series. However, the recycled cast and the lack of polishment in the single-player content can push away the more casual players.

... if you are tired of exploding your opponents' heads and turning each battle into a bloodbath in fighting games, you should try Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite just to have a different and "brighter" experience. Not everyone wants to brutally break their opponents back and watch it in X-ray!

Capcom is like a student who barely passed the Street Fighter and now is doing much better only it's still not enough. If there are more Marvel vs. Capcom games to come, we might see a better roaster of characters as Disney has acquired Fox.

Even though Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite is disappointing in a lot of ways, the combination of classic fighting and new gameplay mechanics results in some exhilarating battles, especially online.

After Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite released, many critics blamed and some admired it. Newly added features and changing battle system to 2 vs 2 tag team fighting helped the game to present decent gameplay and amazed all of its followers. On the other hand, some reviewers criticized the game for its poor and unacceptable visuals. Yet, in my opinion, Marvel vs Capcom: infinite is still a valuable game carrying its unique charms.

On the surface MvCI looks bland and lazy, but once you dive in you will find a fighting game that can stand with any other out there.

After spending a fair bit of time with the many fighting games that have released this year, it’s fair to say Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite is both slacking and lacking in comparison.

If I was to score the game purely from a gameplay perspective, it would pass with high scores and party poppers an all, but as an overall package and almost dead upon arrival online community, Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite is not only a huge missed opportunity

The only thing Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite has going for it is solid gameplay. The artstyle unfortunately suffers from cringe-worthy character design, and there isn't much replayability after players have finished the story and mastered every character via the mission mode.

Marvel Vs Capcom: Infinite is one of the best fighters of the year on a pure gameplay standpoint, the Story Mode may be utter guff and the visuals are incredibly mediocre but when it comes down to it, the core combat and online component are so addictive that you can sink hours into the characters and stones and still be finding new combos and set-ups.

I enjoyed the single player campaign for the most part, even though I whinged all the way through it. However, the lacking roster, annoying sound, unimpressive graphics and visual aesthetic, crappy boss fight design, auto combo problem, and power of Infinity Stone spamming mean I doubt I'll ever choose to bust this out to play with my mates when I have them over for a game night. Most of the Capcom characters left me cold (except Dante, sigh, you handsome rogue, you) and even the Marvel characters have some weird choices. All of the style and humorous panache of MVC3 are absent, and in general this was a solid 'meh' of a game.

Good story, good gameplay. Poor technical level.
