Agents of Mayhem deserves praise for its supporting art-style, voice-acting and excellent characters. However, it lacks the missions and gameplay that these parts deserve.

Volition brought their trademark flair to their first non-Saints Row game in awhile and it definitely shows in Agents of Mayhem. If you want an over the top, explosion filled, machismo spouting, and action packed single player, then you are in for a wild ride. Agents of Mayhem brings not only this, but oh-so much more for fans of Volition’s patented brand of gameplay and humor.

Soul-less in Seoul, Agents of Mayhem tries to break away from Saints Row and in doing so, loses a lot of Volition's hallmark charm. If you can look past an insignificant narrative, constant monotony and writing that lacks tact, you might be in for some dumb fun.

Agents of Mayhem feels more akin to an arcade game or standalone DLC than a full release.

Volition has essentially created their own open world hero shooter in the universe of Saints Row. Taking staple elements that are becoming increasingly popular with each passing day; Hero Characters, Loot Boxes, and Open Worlds. Splicing popular elements from other games has previously worked Volition's favour, but the lack of mission diversity, other than bosses, holds AoM back more than I’d have liked it to. The small world to explore meant things got boring and repetitive. Although, AoM isn’t so long that it becomes a total burden. If you were a fan of Saints Row then Agents of Mayhem could go either way for you, but there are nice nods to the combined universe. But, it can also be lighthearted fun and the humour is on point, as expected from Volition.

I’m having a blast with Agents of Mayhem and find it to be the perfect nonsense game to just turn my brain off, have a bit of a laugh and blow shit up.

The game is really fun, but has more quantity than quality that can make it tiring fast with a myriad of bugs that still need to be fixed. Not to mention PC gamers are well out of luck as it isn’t well optimised for it yet.

Agents Of Mayhem is a highly entertaining, open world third person action game. It’s world and character design provide a unique and interesting take on the genre and combined with the animated cutscenes make for an overall enjoyable gameplay experience. It is let down by it’s repetitive mission structure and lack of online modes, but would still recommend it to any fans of Saints Row or anyone looking to experience a quirky take on the third person shooter genre.

Agents of Mayhem is not a “Saint’s Row” and it’s not even close to it! Yet, it’s a great game featuring fun game-play and mechanism that can entertain its players for about 25 hours. If you’ve played all 2017 masterpieces and saved enough credits for the storm of October titles, you’d better buy the game.

Fans of Saints Row and Crackdown will find common ground in their love for this game. With all the humor and over the top antics of Saints Row, and the explosive, action, super powered combat of Microsoft's Crackdown franchise, Agents of Mayhem is a rip roaring good time for fans of third person, sandbox shooters.

Agents of Mayhem may not be the best open world action game but it is full of awesome gameplay, satisfying exploration, and diverse characters that help keep the experience fresh.

Agents of Mayhem does exactly what it says on the tin. It's chaotic. The cast of characters are memorable and fun as hell to play. The humor is well delivered and not forced. It's just a shame more imagination wasn't put into the objective-based gameplay at its core.

Agents Of Mayhem is not a game that I would personally recommend to purchase right away, but there's enough good in the game that it's certainly worth keeping your eyes on when it goes down in price in the future.

The new game from Volition is a good action-adventure that's really enjoyable thanks to its twelve characters and funny actions. It is also full of incredible activities, but it's really a shame that there is no multiplayer mode to enjoy its colorful open-world along with your friends.

Agents of Mayhem is an exaggerated, fun and challenging game. The combat is simple and frenetic, and the possibility to combine different agents with a variety of skills and styles makes the game fun to play. This also shows that Volition continues getting better without losing its sense of humor and characteristic style, nor the courage to make something new. The only problems are its technical issues and the small variety of missions.

Agents of Mayhem manages to make its own identity while still retaining the spirit of the series that inspired it. With a visually pleasing art direction, pleasantly entertaining combat and a plot that easily ate up thirty hours of my time, it's the kind of experience that is perfect for turning your brain off. There's an art to making video game junkfood like this and Volition haven't lost their touch yet.

I enjoyed a huge number of Missions in Agents of mayhem not because of the content of the game itself but because of the great diversity in the design of the characters and the existence of 14 personalities, so I was impressed with the Futuristic design of Seoul City and the many customizations options for heroes and their abilities, but the game is very repetitive and presenting similar content for over 30 hours, and a silly story of naive events as if you are watching a vulgar TV series.

Fundamentally Agents of Mayhem is a fun game, but Volition's effort to achieve great ambitions at the shadow of Saints Row cut off the the potential to do more. Its roster of characters poses a charming personality and the perspective it gives us of Seoul looks amazing, but beyond the meticulous options in personalization and the fluid combat gameplay, there is a lack of cohesion and too much repetitiveness.
