Short and unsatisfying DLC that makes the prior one better than it was.

By the time Final Fantasy XV is fully finished, most of its mysteries and interludes will have been explained. It's up to you if you want to discover them individually or all at once with the eventual Game of the Year edition (which might come a full year after XV's November 2016 release, given that Episode Ignis isn't dropping until December). For me the main story juice has been worth the squeeze, but the DLC has not.
Final Fantasy XV: Episode Prompto plugs another gap in the main game's still woefully disjointed story, but a seriously shoddy mix of gameplay mechanics makes it a difficult DLC to recommend.
Despite the average story, lack of leveling up and dubious balance, Final Fantasy XV: Episode Prompto is a good DLC with nice shooting elements, spectacular final battle and beautiful trips on a snowmobile.

Episode Prompto is a better experience than Episode Gladio but not by much.
Episode Prompto is a far better chapter that Episode Gladiolus was. With a different but interesting gameplay, really good story and a design that moves away from being linear, this DLC has many good reasons to convince players to return to Final Fantasy XV.

A big improvement over Episode Gladiolus, Episode Prompto is a decent addition for fans.
Overall, this chapter would have been better off being a wholly linear experience, like Episode Gladiolus, because of the lack of meaning to the extraneous content. It was an extravagant idea that could have had so much potential, but the effort feels like it was only met halfway and leaves far too much to be desired. But it is worth it for the devoted fan because Prompto's blindly optimistic character wasn't truly developed in the main story.
