If you enjoyed Little Nightmares, this is for you, however, it isn't quite as engaging or as interesting this time around.

Some tense and creepy moments cannot make The Dephts an experience worthy of praise.

Little Nightmares is a pick for Game of the Year right now and its first DLC chapter, "The Depths", enjoyably builds on the intoxicating and mysterious mythos of The Maw.

This rather short expansion can be fun for fans of Little Nightmares, but lacks content and isn't as impactful as the main game.

In all departments, except graphics, The Depths is inferior to the original game. There are no sufficient level of challenge, and the difficulty lies in timing and luck. The level's boss looks weaker than predecessors, and the new character doesn't offer a sufficient level of empathy. If Little Nightmares was the TV series, we would call this DLC a filler that is still not convinced us to buy a Season Pass.

This first DLC miss some chalenge and ideas, and is very short.

"The Depths" would be better as a part of bigger expansion for Little Nightmares. As whole chapter, DLC is too short – then again, it's very cheap so, all in all, its worth your time.

Some will be disappointed that there is no story progression, or revelations of any sort, with this first DLC release for Little Nightmares, but even the way The Depths is selected from the in-game menu screen implies "prequel" or "side-story" and that is exactly what this is. If the tense run-and-jump sections of the base game were appealing, and the thought of a few more jump scares sounds right up your street, then dropping a few quid for another hour's worth of intense action is certainly well worth it.

I loved the main chapters, but this one was just literally little. While the chase sequences were fun and exciting, it wasn’t the quality I was hoping to get from the DLC. It was a bit shallow, and the direction of this staggered content is a horrible idea if the next 2 chapters will be as short as this.

Little Nightmares: The Depths is a good first episode of the Secrets of the Maw expansion. Great atmosphere combined with the excellent platforming passages leaves you wishing for more.

This would have been better as a complete package, with all three chapters sewn together. Considering it’s a plan that Tarsier has had all along – teasing its DLC, as it did, long ago – its merits and additions would be more sating had they been swallowed by The Maw, along with everything else, from day one.

Hot on the heels of Little Nightmares came the first of three DLC expansions, ‘The Depths’. Part one focuses on a young faceless boy (the so-called Runaway Kid) as he attempts to escape his horrifying fate upon the Maw.

It’s not often I call for extra DLC, but with a world as luring as The Maws, this is certainly a story that will benefit from expanding on its tale.
