DOOM VFR is one of the most action-packed games I've ever played using the HTC Vive. It's a shame Bethesda ignored the huge amount of progress that has been made in VR development. DOOM VFR is a good game, but with a number of changes it could easily become a great game. Do not buy this game if you suffer from motion sickness as you simply won't be able to play it for longer than five minutes at a time. However, if the locomotion issues don't bother you, DOOM VFR is definitely worth picking up.

Doom VFR is a fun but a short experience that comes bundled with debatable controller options and level layouts you would have experienced in the 2016 classic over a year ago.

If you can get to grips with the control system or if you are one of the lucky few that managed to get a PS Aim controller, Doom VFR is a fun and addictive game that you will want to play . My first play through was meant to be a quick one hour try of the game and I just could not put it down. The graphics in model detail and animations make this the most visually impressive PSVR titles I have played, but I do not see me replaying the game anytime soon.

Doom VFR is a short experience that has a couple of high points but mostly struggles to work as both a VR shooter and a Doom entry

DOOM VFR is Bethesda's second major VR release, but it feels like one that is coming a year too late. Poor controls and odd design decisions detract from what would otherwise be an excellent VR shoote

This specific vision of DOOM is not compatible with PlayStation VR. Mainly due a horrific controls scheme that breaks everything DOOM stood for: a frenetic combat ballet that uses both weapons and movement.

While DOOM: VFR can be a fun game to play, the lack of ultra-violence and short playtime overshadow the fun that DOOM: VFR provides, especially at it's current price

If you have a room-scale VR system, try. Otherwise, avoid.

Some design decisions have hampered the DOOM VFR experience, but when you’re locked in an arena with the spawn of hell coming for you, the fight for survival carries you through the experience. It’s a very familiar game but if you were a fan of the 2016 release, and you’re like me then you’ll be happy to return to the fray… just don’t have too much to eat before playing.
